Can the use of testosterone and anabolic steroids increase white blood cell count?

I have been on and off for about five years and over a lot of that time period my
Blood draws regularly show high white blood cell counts without symptom of underlying infection. I have been referred to hematology to figure this out but figured I’d ask here

Probably an infection. You dont even need to feel it. It can be an allergic reaction as well as the gear.

OP Can you post your cbc with differential? Atleast 3 months apart?

It seems like it is repetitive if it's been happening more than once

The only way this can happen through steroid use is if you have some kind of reaction, infection or contamination and your body reacts against it.

Try reviewing other possibilities. I see some people having increased white blood cells due to eating certain foods, such as peanut butter, gluten, dairy, among others. But the problem here is not the food, but the sensitivity that this person may have to these foods. That is, if you do not have a problem with a certain food, there is no reason to stop consuming it.

It's also possible that you already have a slight increase in your WBC count without it actually being a problem. But in this case the increase is always discrete. If it's close to the reference limit, then it would be nice to investigate this further.

Always consider taking a new test to check that that change in blood tests wasn't just something transient and unrelated either to steroids or any food.

Thats why I said allergic reaction maybe if you have that during summer or it could be the gear also.
I think a prolonged allergic reaction would have presented it itself with some systemic effects, GI upset, rashes instead of being referred to hematology for simply abnormal labs.

I won't directly disclose what my job is publicly but my job aligns with checking for leukocytosis in people.

I am pretty sure anabolics can increase WBC initially but it would not be sustained months or years

I have been having acute Gi symptoms that are extremely severe for the last 9 weeks

if it was wbc was high repeatedly over the past few years I dont think it is relateed, its possible though that your body had enough..

Or it could be allergy to food like what @HB_22 and @cassius suggested. its hard to tell unless you show blood work.
