Which abdominal exercise do you connect best with

You are 100% spot on with this reply coz cardio/losing weight/fatloss is the only thing anyone needs to do to reveal abs........but thickness in the ab muscles will still require weight and progressive overload to make them look bigger.

Example......you can do 1000 ab reps every day using bodyweight only and eat the perfect diet for fatloss but if you haven't used weight to stimulate growth in that area the ab muscles will look small and weak.

Using weight with abs really depends on who you're trying to impress when you drop all the bodyfat.
The problem with using weights on abs is once you stop exercising, you look fatter than ever. It's just not a good strategy. Cardio all the way.

That's true and training abs that way (with weight) led to belly distension in the modern (earlier) pro physiques.

Ashamed to say I don't train abs except the secondary work they get from stabilizing my core during big lifts. I'm actually wondering if it's worth adding some direct ab work.

You gotta incorporate abs and oblqiues 2-3x a week. It is a muscle just like any other muscle, ignoring it will lead to imbalances.

Before weighted abs I had no ab definition no matter how lean I got.

After doing Stars, Weighted ab crunches, and endless planks in a brutal circuit I was able to build a respectable core. Still not where I need to be though. My obliques are lagging behind because I only started really focusing on them the past year.

That is why I preach to hit all muscles from the get go. You don't want your chest to be 10 years in and obliques one.

Yes, bro, many people think that doing abs, they lose fat locally. Forgetting the most important thing, that the press will be with the loss of the total mass of fats, and this is nutrition, activity :)

The core is divided into 4 sections, deadlifts do one section, twisting does other, front planks or rollouts to one, and the last side planks.

That said i do

Rope heavy crunches
Hang leg raises
Incline bands behind head instead of medicine ball on chest.
A ab machine

None of them! I had hernia surgery last year and I'm afraid to rip my guts open again.

Jiu Jitsu has destroyed my body in more ways than one.

Don't worry about crunches bud, just do lots of missionary and doggy, every thrust activates your core and abdominals.;)

Missionary and doggy? Bro, this guy is a stud that women flock to coz he is so sexually irresistible.

He doesn't need to please them or make an effort. He just lays back and gets laid and "they" ride and do all the work....

True playa

Last night I got rode so hard, she was like grunting bro. She was squeezing for that nut with every downward thrust. It was awesome.
