Give her something higher capacity. If something happens at night, she wakes up to it, she's panicked, half awake, nervous, accuracy may suck. Handgun with 15+1 and a red dot, semi auto mag fed 12g shot gun is good too. Depends on your girls proficiency as well of course. Whatever you give her, have her train with it

Home defense lol your more likely to use a gun on yourself then someone else. I sold drugs for along time when I was younger never had one. All my friends have them but they just collect dust. I see no point in guns anymore unless used for hunting. A dog or security system is much better because it will prevent it from happening in the first place.

A security system will prevent an intrusion, or better yet a dog? Both will literally 100% prevent an intruder and eliminate the need for firearms? I'm with Mac, most retarded thing I've read in a while anywhere.
Most “correct” answer is a shotgun with birdshot both for increasing your odds of hitting an intruder middle of the night/jacked up on adrenaline and for avoiding over penetration and hitting your neighbors house.
Best answer is whatever you’re currently most proficient with.

You already know I think from the other thread...but more importantly than what she or you are using is your actual defense plan and have you practiced?!
She has pepper gel on the night stand and a UTS-15 under the bed with 7 buckshot and 8 slugs
(including always one in the chamber). We have a plan to and have practiced.If the alarm goes off or we hear any suspicious noise then I will take up a crouched or prone position behind the dresser with a clear view around the corner into the living room through our bedroom door. That is with a nice and quiet 9mm with a laser flashlight combo underneath that I can switch on the second I see movement with my non trigger finger. I may also grab my nice and quiet 300 blk from under my side of the bed. I have practiced getting uo and grabbing my guns and lining up shots probably a hundred times now. So I'm pretty confident in my speed thay I could beat a burglar or murderer.
As for my lady...she will turn off the air purifier so we can hear better (we like white noise to sleep) then grab both her pepper gel and UTS-15 and retreat to the bathroom and turn on the laser dot for accuracy. (Edit actually she grabs the gun first then just rips the cord out of the wall for the air filter on her way to the bathroom. Takes about 2 seconds. Line the dot on the center of mass and blast away. That's obviously only if they get past me. She had a solid cover position behind the cabinets in the bathroom or there is a small line of sight from the toilet tuckaway out to the bedroom. As she goes in there there's a ceramic (fuck AR500) L4 vest for her to put on.
The other option is that I take cover behind the cabinets and she is behind me in the toilet nook. With thay we may both have time to slip the L4 body armor on (it's literally hanging on the wall right there) for at least some protection.
Oh one other thing is that she would take the little bathroom night like out as she goes to the back. We want blackness in our space and light in the other.
I am planning to get a battery powered motion activated floodlight in the doorway to my bedroom. That would be super legit for my primary position. As soon as that thing turns on (nobody would expect a floodlight inside) they'd be totally blind and I'd open fire.
That said...as soon as the alarm goes off they would probably run away. Honestly the best defense is having an alarm and having easily visible (even lit up) signs saying "House is protected by X". Also having a dog
When a burglar hears a big dog or two bark they don't wanna fuck with thay and they will 90% of the time run away (made up that number but I would bet it is pretty close to accurate).

Before: Barbed wire on top of concrete wall, remote control metal gate, uniformed police at gate with AK47. Big dog. AKS-74U for personal defense in the house.
Now: Super safe country with zero gun violence, pretty much zero burglaries, crime rate so low that I never even think about it. Live in apartment, the probability of a burglary while anyone's home is so remotely unlikely that I'm more concerned of getting electrocuted by hair drier.
Bonus question: Guess where I prefer my children to grow up.

Yeah your right my post was the most retarded post ever made. It’s much more important sleeping with your pistol right next to you and to study the best angles and corners in your house. You watch a lot of movies?
I made a couple edits it may be worth rereading. Anyway, the most important thing is to scope out your house and have plans for various scenarios. At night while you're sleeping? Also consider if you take any mediations to sleep. If so, have your partner switch the alarm to test mode and set it off at some point while you're sleeping so you can TRULY gauge how long it'd take while sedated. You may have wobbly vision or be less coordinated and shit.
Also I keep my extra mags AT my position (as well as next to my gun of course just in case I can't get into position). Love the mag connectors that let you have two mags attached to one another. I don't want to have to grab a gun and mags I want to grab the gun and know my mags are there for me when I get to my spot.
What about during the day? Morning? While you're chilling in the evening? I live by the "never more than 3 seconds away from a firearm rule" lol.
My navy seal trainer friend told me "You cannot physically go somewhere thay your mind has not yet gone." In other words...you need to think these things through if you want to have a hope or responding the "right" way. Physical practice is critical as well. Go to the range or find a place you can safely shoot and practice with various targets and practice reloading and everything with various guns. Just get comfortable with it all.
I am not a big fan of the way AK mags pop in. You have to angle then properly to feed it. I suspect te Komrad would be the same but idk. AR mags are so easy. Just smash it in there and hit the bolt release and you're golden baby.
Also make sure to have a FUCK THIS LETS BAIL plan lol. Grab your bug out bag and leave until it is safe.
