What are your women using for home defense?

Any particular 22lr suppressor you recommend.
Honestly with .22 is tough to go wrong. Even a form 1 kit will do you super solid. Dead Air is a great brand as it's Silencer Central.

If you want to form 1 it and be able to get it done way way faster, you can build one yourself or use a kit like QuietBore

For a 9mm or rifle IMO buying or built and going form 4 is well worth the wait. The DIY ones just don't quite meet the same level of quality... but that said you could always do one in the meantime while waiting for a form 4. Or if you know a machinist then perhaps you'd be fine.

Have you had experience doing it yourself? How successful is it, and how difficult is it?

Is there any real value in a micro suppressor on a P365 or Shield, etc? Appendix IWB carry
For carry, i don’t think so. Added size and weight.

In a normal ~20yd or less self defense situation noise and flash suppression is pretty far down on the list.

I've read that the ATF is blanket denying Form 1 applications. So "yay" for overreaching government agencies.

Imo not for CCW really. They increase the time it takes to draw as you're essentially extending your barrel by X inches and it also is much less comfortable.

I say just carry without a suppressor.

For home defense a suppressor is ideal because you get ear protection and you won't be deaf after firing a round or two, putting you at a disadvantage of there is multiple assailants.

Where? On the NFA subreddit you can see people every day who are getting their form 1s approved..?

Hate to say it, but I agree with him here. All I have to do is flip on the local news and see the homicides come up and it’s always the same demographic….ALWAYS
I often go to different countries. And I agree with you and no, because the attack is complete where there is no social security for people. People are forced to survive. Therefore, it has nothing to do with nationality.

That is dumb, but makes sense. They are looking st places like quietbore that sell parts kits to make suppressors.

Technically even just having in your posession the parts to make a suppressor, SBR, or SBS, you should have an approved form 1 before even possessing the parts. Essentially like if you own a rifle and do not have a tax stamp and you have a 9" barrel sitting around the ATF could technically charge you with some shit. It's really dumb but that's how its been and i doubt it will change.

Real talk suppressors should be over the counter not NFA items anyway. it's not like John wick where yo could be in a gunfight in the subway and nobody would hear. It's still loud, even if it is just the clack of the bolt. All they do is protect your ears and act as a courtesy to those around you so they don't have to hear you shooting as loudly or as close. You might scare less dogs with a supressor than without. And it is the classic case of: those committing crimes aren't gonna care if suppressor is ilegal. If they want one they will get one. Just like guns or drugs.the NFA really doesnt do much except make a class system where you must have "this much" spare cash to get a suppressor..

That said if you submit a legit form 1 then you have no reason to think you'll be denied.

Edit: look I appreciate the NRA in many ways, but they are really good at fear mongering... 850 denials is fucking nothing. They get tens of thousands of applicants per year.
