I am entering my first show in April of next year, current weight and height is 250lb @ 6'2. Current bf% is around 18% (guesstimation) my main focus will be classic physique but I may also enter open to see how I size up against the big boys.

Current training is a 4 day split - chest, back, shoulders & arms, legs, rest and repeat

Training all follows a similar style 10-15 sets per body part depending on size/attention required to balance my physique. Big focus has been growing my legs and making my chest more aesthetically pleasing.

Currently running 525mg test E a week, no ai (have some on hand, haven't felt the need to use them yet)

Diet will be 5 meals on training days, and an additional refeed on the rest day before hitting legs. I have yet to write out my diet but that will be my next step, as it stands each meal I eat has about 40-50g of protein, carbs used more on pre training meal, and the last meal of the night is always something light and digestible like chicken and rice stir fry

I have attached some pics of current shape as long as they aren't too large to post

Top is most recent, as I'm leaner than I was in the bottom 2

Hey brother good luck on your first show prep. First of all when you’re doing classic physique your options as a first time competitor will be novice, true novice, and open.

Open in this sense does not mean the different division of bodybuilding. It is still just classic physique however it’s guys who are can no longer compete in the novice category because it’s not their first show. So this is still just classic physique. I think you may mean that you want to also compete in a bodybuilding division.

The term “open” to refer to bodybuilding is really for the top level just to distinguish between the 212 guys and the “open” guys, but this is still just bodybuilding division. In which case you would just find a weight category to fit your size, i.e, lightweight, heavyweight, etc.

Do you have a coach?

@Shivathedestroyer no coach, and I will sign up for both men's classic physique and mens bodybuilding, I'm still technically a true novice, although I don't want to limit myself in my competition because I feel like I could be competitive with my local competition, @legacypharma, it's just a small local show to dip my toes in, I'd tell you thr name but opsec

Little update on prep. Still working on getting a better posing picture set up going, but here's a little back comparison, 253ish in first pic, and 239.6 in second pic as of this morning. About 2.5 week difference here

Been silent for a while, just working away weighed in at 238 today, 8 more pounds to make my cap, 8 more weeks to shred and improve my look. Not as lean as I'd like, but things are moving along nicely compared to where I was at. Current macros are 260g protein a day, 297g carbs and 83g fats, training on a 5 day split

7 weeks 3 days new low of 234lbs, competing in men's classic physique in the 6'1-6'2 up to 230 lbs class, as well as true novice and junior respectivelyIMG_20230228_184130_022.jpg

Calories currently at 2400 as of today, just lost 68g net carbs, it's time for the real dieting to begin

Macros are
235g protein
200g carbs
75g fats

Same macros, weighed in at 229.5 this am, this is my current shape, legs are coming in super well, and we still have 6 weeks and 3 days of time to prepare before show day. Brain fog is getting pretty decent at times, especially between meals. Super excited to make my debut, I'm signed up for men's classic physique in 3 different categories, true novice, junior, and open class for my height and weight 6'1" to 6'2" and 230lbs

Looking good man. Keep grinding hard. 6 weeks you should have enough time to get that condition dialed in.

Awesome look for a first show! You'll still probably have a good 15lbs of stage weight to grow after this before you hit your weight cap

@Evom1 Thanks brother, I'm excited to make my debut. Me and my coach figure we will be sitting anywhere around 210-215 on stage so you are probably right, but I'm going to take 6-8 weeks to equalize after my show, then I'm running a committed growth period to really grow my physique to fit my frame, and possibly look into going into bodybuilding and move out of classic physique, although if I qualify for a pro qualifier after this show I will go just for the experience, to harden myself for the next step. I will try to do weekly updates here but like I said the brain fog is only increasing with my current carb intake

That is fantastic! Sounds like you have a legitimate wise coach who is guiding you properly. That's the correct way to do things and best for long term health.

Current shape at 2 weeks 3 days out, pretty happy with where I'm at, could have some thinner skin though. 2 more weeks to cut water, shred the last bit of fat. Currently on like 1500 calories a day. I'd add it up for you all but I really just can't manage to think too ahead between meals, so instead I'll give my meals, training days (1-5)
1st meal, 40g protein, no carb, 15g fat, meal 2, 40g protein, 10g carb and no fat 3rd meal, 40g protein, 25g carbs, 15g fat
4th meal, 40 g protein, 35g carbs, no fat
5th meal, 40g protein, no carb, 15g fat

Hey man I don't mean this to be rudely, just one competitor to another, but have you considered switching to a show further out? You've got quite a bit more leaning out to do to be stage ready

1k sign up fees say no. No point now, this is my first show, and my baseline. My plan is to only improve from this point. I may not be where I want to be but I'm learning the process for next time. I didn't enter this show to win, I entered it to prove to myself I can do a prep, no offense taken, just gotta keep pumping the cardio and hope dehydration tightens me up plenty. If I was stepping onto an ifbb stage or my 10th show it would be different, but I think for myself I need to just keep riding it out
