Medically prescribed TRT. How to prevent “moon face”

Long time no see. As many of you know, I went off steroids almost a year ago to try and recover myself. 2 months ago I was prescribed enclomophine dosed at 12.5 mg everyday. With my follow up bloodwork my levels read as the following

TT- 267 ng/dl (horrible)
Free T- 7.3 (even worse)
LH- 5.4
FSH- 1.9
Sadly, it seems as tho my testicles no longer work and the doc thinks I need to go on full blown trt. Just as a last ditch effort, I requested to try 3 more months of the enclomophine at 25 mg along with adding in Tonkga Ali and Fadogia Agrestis to maybe help push the needle

I’ve been able to stay pretty lean while off and my face has never looked better. I don’t look like a bloated slob. However, if I am required to go on TRT, I fear of that “fat moon face” making an ugly return. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to lower estrogen/ control moon face? An AI can be included in my prescription but I just hear a lot of bad things about using AI’s. Hopefully someone can help.

Arimidex. Yeah you hear a lot of Bro Science of people saying that Arimidex is bad but the millions of trt patients take it and nothing bad is happening to them. I would like to see some proof that AI's are bad...I still don't believe it. I mean yeah if you abuse anything it's bad but taking a half a milligram twice a week is not going to have any bad effect. It's literally prescribed to Children up to 7 mg a week with no side effects.

I agree with the above. AI’s get a bad rap because idiots abuse them and in turn, crash their estrogen which can have a negative impact on health markers and general well-being. It’s not hard to find the right dose to keep levels in range and that can be verified by diligent bloodwork when beginning a protocol.

Also, I believe the term “moon face” is a term that serves as a cop out for fat guys (not calling you fat, OP). I can run 2g of test, if my diet is in check and body fat is low, no such thing as “moon face”. These are the same guys bulking on pizza and ice cream then complaining about water retention…you’re fat, not watery lol.

Moon face is a real thing.

Just 200 Test made my old-man face much rounder... which I liked as it temporarily concealed some wrinkles and fine lines, and I was definitely in shape - 2 hours of cardio a day shape.

Just depends on the person.

If you're talking about high e2 causing water retention in the face? ... and you're talking about TRT then your dose is too high. You shouldn't need an Ai for trt. People needing an Ai for "trt" have their free t levels too high, meaning, it's not really trt.

well to be fair, more prone to obesity(fat or not at the time) usually have more aromatase no? don't think its one size fits all..

Sure, some people are more prone to aromatization then others. In a natural person this would mean higher SHBG levels or lower HPTA output, ie. the system would correct it self. However, if one is injecting steroids, he can override this system and end up with high estrogen. I'm really doubtful though, if having free test within range could end up in one having e2 significantly over the range. Or at least this would be in a minority of people, definitely not a standard outcome of the majority.

You guys really get moon face from 200mg of test? Jesus Christ, that sucks.

OP, I don't get moon face even from 750mg of test even without an AI, so it isn't set in stone. It's mostly dependent on your estrogenic response. Just test the waters and go from there. If need be, use an AI, but keep the estrogen as high as you can stand, imo. Estrogen is extremely cardio healthy, and healthy in a myriad of other ways.

Just be careful what advice you listen to.
There was this fragile ego idiot I saw post the following statement earlier today in response to a post very similar to yours which was more than likely your post.

False and misleading statement: "Estrogen DOES NOT cause bloating or retained water ."

Truth: Sodium is often the main reason why men why high estrogen will bloat and retain water. However, a man with high estrogen can still bloat and retain water even if they cut sodium out of the diet.

This is not an opinion, this is scientific fact. Having high estrogen alone can cause excess water retention.

My referenced clown then insulted people who didn't agree with him and stated that he was 100% correct in the false and misleading statement above.

Now you won't have that here as most people here aren't afraid to admit when they are wrong. I am just saying to do some of your own research too in addition to listening to advice. The advice that I see here looks pretty solid.

I say its better to research, listen to advice from multiple perspectives and then research some more before you act because it would suck to find out the hard way that a self proclaimed expert is simply a fool.

I think the AIs are a bad thing comes from a handful of possible issues.

You don't want to crash your estrogen and I believe they are hard on the liver (not sure).

In women for sure they can weaken bones. Not sure if that is the case with men.
I have yet to try arimidex but I have used aromasin with success. To me it seems people are 50-50 between those two.

Holy shit. 2 hours of cardio a day? That is insane. I've upped my cardio over the last few months and Im merely at 2.5 hours a week.

Yeah but like a moron I smoked for 40 years, even while running 7-8 miles a day in my 20's and 30's.

Today's old man routine:
1 hour on the treadmill in the AM.
1 hour walking in the PM.

And when I don't I feel like shit.

Don't Smoke!

I just saw a great rack and decided to both give you a thumbs up and make a comment. Tits.

I'm usually at 6 or so per week. It depends on your goals. I'm mostly TRT (althomy size is about double a straight TRT dose right now), but I'm more interested in performance related goals for a specific non-tested sport; I need the cardio for the sport, but I would like to be able to recover faster than I would otherwise.

I'm on 350-420 mg/week, and I'm not noticing any bloating or water retention. Def. not getting a moon face. I've had a little increased acne and oily skin, but some extra scrubbing in the shower takes care of that decently. If anything, my face is looking a little more angular; maybe my barber just did a really good job with the last haircut. :)

The use of masteron usually mitigates aromatization. So try a small dose with your test. Also supplementing potassium is a good thing if fluid retention is a problem. The use of AI at such a small dose seems excessive but if you aromatize that quickly you may need it
