Only if it makes demand go up.
Price is a function of supply and demand.
Supply goes down, demand stays the same, prices go up.
Doesn't require "panic buying", ie, increased demand, to make prices rise. When sellers have less of something, they know some percentage of remaining buyers are willing to pay more.
I'm not hearing too many people panicking to be honest. I suspect the vast majority of us are hoarders and not running out soon.
The whole thing is a pretty good shock to the system. We have definitely been spoiled over the last few years.
The thing is, it's still pretty apparent to me there's another big shock coming after this with shipping to the US. I wonder which vendors have prepared alternate "shipping lines" and/or established well stocked US warehouses/labs.
Going to be good times for domestic labs if they have/can get raws. Make friends with Stan. I think he's going to get very selective with his clientele.

I get the point you're making. Talking about shortages, leads to more panic buying, leads to shortages, leads to more panic buying, etc.
Take the instance of COVID toilet paper stocking. News talks about it, people see it in store, people start stocking...shortages happen.
Sources hear and see people talking about shortages, more likely to take advantage of herd mentality and bump prices since it is more easily justifiable.

it is more complicated than that, also, we are outside of a classroom, prices went up 3x-4x, this isn't some calculated equation, this is a dealer seeing what they can get away with.
Really because I see people talking about it every fucking day for no reason, just making vague nonsense comments about it everyday, or jokes about stocking up everyday, and speculating everyday so i don't agree.

its no coincidence that QSC was contemplating raising prices (for what they admit was useless testing) and within hours GA raised their prices twice for "shortages".
I can't believe everyone can't see the big picture and I know the chinese dislike me but at the same time respect that I'm not another naive bodybuilder.

The basic principles of economics still apply even though we are outside of a classroom.
We are drug users and addicts. Most of us, I believe, have very high price inelasticity of demand. Meaning essentially, regardless of price, we will purchase.
So, drug dealers are smart to bump prices the way some of them have especially when considering the supply constriction occurring, in addition to the current spike in demand.
Just my take.

I've got movement on my EQ promo. I think most people will start to see movement in the next day or two on their end of October promos. I don't think this is an exit scam. I think ol boy got inundated and overwhelmed with panic buyers, coupled with finding out his raw connect evaporated so they are scrambling to put a cap over the oil hemorrhage with higher prices. I'll reserve judgment until these packs land on my doorstep but I still think the source is GTG. The clumsy way that he overshot his price gouging then under shot them then overshot them again made me lol but I think he will come back to reality in the next month or two when no one's buying

most of you guys just talk without actually know the situation in china, it has been made clear from first day that the current issue of raw shortage in china is happening, customers/resellers going crazy with buying at the moment because the future is not to predict. we do hope within a few month it will be back to normal, but for how it looks now then dont expect to be cheaper.

Listen, you can rage about how "talk" is "making" prices rise. "Talk" can only potentially increase demand. Sellers will always charge as much as they can.
If sellers raise prices based on talk, and no one is willing to pay those prices they don't sell anything. Then they'll have to drop prices.
You haven't discovered some third element to the law of supply and demand.
If it were up to you, and "speculation" was banned, some guys wouldn't have had a heads up and prepared in advance.
"You shouldn't talk about it until it's happened and already too late!"
