Anyone ever get a ring stuck on their finger

Was hoping for a dumb question section lol.

I’ve put on 80lbs in a year and a half. By the time I realized it wasn’t coming off, it was too late.

Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else, and maybe you have a trick to get it off lol. Was hoping not to cut (myself and/or ring).

I was able to get my wedding ring off a couple weeks ago using some 10w-30 motor oil.

My Daughter did that when she was real young. She came to me only after her finger had swollen to twice the normal size. I looked at it and told her I was going to have to cut it off. When she started freaking out and crying I realized she thought I was going to cut off her finger. Good times. As suggested, motor oil, baby oil, windex (weird but works), petroleum jelly, vegetable oil, etc.

Mine came off with washing up liquid, made a lather and kept moving and turning the ring side to side until it came off.

But, also, it depends how much chunkier your finger got...
Hopefully not that much...

I found this thing, where they also talk about using thread/dental floss.
I have never done it that way.

I saw the windex suggestion a lot actually lol

Doing floss with motor oil next. Knuckle seems bigger than the ring now.

Good luck, dear.

BUT be careful and if the finger has become too swollen, ice it and leave it alone until it is not sore and the swelling has gone down.
Then, try again, maybe with the method you felt created more movement, if there was one.
In case of failure, only one thing to do, I am afraid.
But if it is a gold ring, you can have it repaired or fused and remade.

I had my hand get hung climbing down off a dozer. my finger started swelling very quickly to the point that it cut off circulation and was in the middle of nowhere.. I guy i worked with had some dental floss but it wasnt tough enough kept breaking. We ended up using some nylon string line to cork screw it off.. very intense ordeal.. one person had to hold my hand and arm still while another pulled on the string... never worn the ring again.. No matter how tight it is on there the cork screw method is full proof.. how bad do you want it off atm is the question. The string has to be wrapped very tight.

Use a diuretic for several days. Then lube it up good and slowly work it off.

Don’t let one of those tungsten rings get stuck. OMG.
