You may be confusing Benzyl alcohol with Ethyl alcohol. It will take several hours to a day to evaporate 0.1ml of Benzyl Alcohol spilled on a flat surface under normal conditions

I actually conflated benzyl alcohol and isopropyl, which is commonly used as an antiseptic in the concentrations I mentioned.

Benzyl alcohol would work in much lower concentrations, but still much higher than one would choose to inject.
