Nietzsche never used that word with the meaning you are using it. You are twisting it.

Lol
Untermensch was a contraposition to the
Übermensch but with a connotation that is not even close to how you meant it.

The meaning you used is 100% used by Nazi in their propaganda to express what they thought of other races that weren't the arian one.

Pathetic how you tried to justify it, at least have the ball to express your vile convictions instead of hiding it behind a curtain of deceiveness.

For reference:

The term Untermensch evolved significantly from its early uses to its application in Nazi propaganda. Initially, the concept was not inherently racial; it was used in literature and philosophy to describe individuals who were perceived as failing to meet societal standards. The American author Lothrop Stoddard used the term "under-man" in his 1922 book, which was later translated into German as Der Kulturumsturz: Die Drohung des Untermenschen (1925). The Nazis adopted and distorted this term, using it extensively in propaganda to dehumanize groups like Jews, Slavs, and Roma, portraying them as subhuman and justifying their persecution an

You are an idiot.

And ignorant.

You are so pathetic, deluded and self obsessed even with this you must have the last word, which is an incorrect one.

Serves you right.

Let's hope you do not delete this the way you have deleted the other reply to me.

Why is that message gone?

I hope that after this you have the decency (I doubt it) to shut your mouth next time you wanna spew your Nazi shit around here.

Übermensch

Get wiki.

Have you read any of it?
Not wiki or chatgpt.
His work, how writing.

I am sure out of all people here you are the only one who did.

That after all that was posted here today Zebedee latched onto that, in a completely manipulative way, should be known, to you.
But, frankly, whatever

You know, being well read, that the term has a very bad history, especially what was done with it. I think we can all agree moving forward to avoid its use.

"This is what happens when you haven't seen a dick for more than a decade"

The one that contained this and a lot more, making fun of me for not wanting to be like the so called women that hang around with you, a 40 year old man with a very strange chip on his shoulder.

Cannot quote it because you deleted it.

If I am wrong, go ahead and find it.

What others subsequently do is not connected to an author's conception and use of terminology, especially after he died, lol.

Do I really need to say stuff like this to you?
I mean, anyone else, ok, but you and Ghoul are the only cultured people, here.
I am not cultured, but even I know that.

In any case, no offence taken.

Clearly, such rewiting fits other people's agenda here.
But I could not care less.

I have it in front of me, it says: moderator approval.

Once more, you should have kept your fingers off the keyboard.

What do they say?

"It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt."

I'm just pointing out how the term can be taken. No one can tell your intent but you. I'd have to go back to original texts to see author's usage.

Did Nietzsche ever use the term "Untermensch" in his works? I honestly didn't think so, but don't know for a fact.

Nietzsche didn't use that term to describe a subhuman. That wasn't the meaning or even his idea of it, far from it.

You just did what the Nazi did with his philosophy and books. You twisted the original meaning to fit your narrative and what are the chances that it was precisely in the SAME way the nazi used it, amazing isn't it? What are the odds?

Pathetic, carry on, you can't never dig your grave deep enough I guess

He did, not in the way she meant it, far from it.

It was in contraposition to Ubermensch, untermensch was intended as an individual who lack self-awareness or are not striving for self-overcoming.

Appears he actually did use the word although without the racist meaning.

Wordplays with Nietzsche's term seem to have been used repeatedly as early as the 19th century and, due to the German linguistic trait of being able to combine prefixes and roots almost at will in order to create new words, this development was even somewhat logical. For instance, German author Theodor Fontane contrasts the Übermensch/Untermensch word pair in his novel Der Stechlin (1898, see Chapter 33). As a matter of fact, even Nietzsche himself used "Untermensch" at least once in contrast to "Übermensch" (Die fröhliche Wissenschaft [1882], 3rd book, Chapter 143) but this bears no resemblance to the Untermensch in later thought. Earlier examples of "Untermensch" include Romanticist Jean Paul using the term in his novel Hesperus (1795) in reference to an Orangutan (Chapter "8. Hundposttag").

Just another example on the perception of the term from someone well read here at MESO. I'd just advise to avoid that word as a pejorative term.

@glpfun just a quick note to say I stand by what I wrote you and disagreeing with your behaviour towards OP and the disrespectful and unwarranted way you addressed me.

If you still have concerns about members deserving of a ban because acting against harm reduction (the crux of your dislike for OP), you can voice that openly, rather than making fun and belittling someone.

However, I can also recognise that I said my piece and I do not want to continue adding onto the negativity you initiated on the qsc thread.

You did the right abandoning the scene, looking at the (still ongoing) display of disrespect, ignorance and desperate upmanship.

And so I hope that, should we have future interactions, they will be of a more constructive nature.

Have a good evening/Monday/rest of the week.
