Not gaining weight on cycle.

This is extremely difficult for 99% of people to achieve. You either need to be in the noob phase, on your first cycle or two, or have professional bodybuilder levels of discipline and tracking/monitoring in place while already eating a shit ton. Anyone relying on tissue gain in a deficit is likely delusional
it might be because some people are switching up excerises often, you need like what good 6 weeks for neurological adaptions? even in a deficit you will gain strength but no size, size is king strength is bullshit.

i hate all this new upper lower / full body shit training like powerbuilders thinking its the shit chasing a number instead of the mirror.

Yes but gaining strength on a movement is not 1:1 with growth as you mention. And 1000% agreed. This new social media craze of 140lb soaking wet curly haired teens telling guys who have added 100lbs+ of muscle 10-15 years deep into this that they’re training wrong is sad. But I do not agree with your last statement; strength, when yoire working a consistent split/movement order, is a very useful metric.

might have worded it wrong since im emotional about my training philosophy.

of course the more muscle mass you add the stronger you're gonna get but im defiently into mind muscle connection/controlling the weight chasing size instead of getting as STRONG as i can.

i could also just drop it and start lifting to move as much weight as i can while the form still looks good but no muscle mind connection and explode my lifts up by 5-15kg but then i wont progess alot physique wise.

Ive been thinking about this lately. For me, I will gain size before I gain strength. I have always thought this was weird. High school, the military, and now, I will see results in the mirror before I see strength gains. Then all of a sudden, my lifts that I could only do 10-12 reps on will jump to 15-25 reps. Its like my body says "ok bro, add weight". I was really confused when gear gave me no strength. lol

Yeah, I agree. It’s really hard to gauge muscle hypertrophy when you’re cutting. When I first started going to the gym and was trying to lose fat, I made the classic mistake of doing mostly cardio, which ended up killing off some of my muscle.

Last time I tried to cut fat but still hold on to as much muscle as possible, i completely cut out cardio and trained like i was bulking. Just kept the rest times super short. Sort of like Crossfit That way i managed to drop 12 kg of fat and keep most of the muscle. Not sure it would work for someone else

Somewhere in China right now, a weightlifter just shed a tear :)
But seriously, you can gain muscle while in a slight calorie deficit, it’s just really hard to see because when you lose fat, your muscles look smaller even if you’re not actually losing muscle. Having a smart, precise nutrition plan and focusing on heavy compound lifts will definitely help with that
