I was thanking you all. I am just trying to capture all the reports in one place.Wish I saw these earlier!

BB I am using:

Brand new, fresh spike:

Brand new, no damage:

I sucked up some BB into the spike and sumberged it into the BB:

I'll report back after a week or so unless someone wants earlier updates. I'll let this soak for a while and see how it looks.
EDIT: Looks like the top end floats whether there is BB inside or not. I could put something on it to push it down and submerge but I don't want to introduce anything else other variables:

That is a massive bummer. I was so looking forward to no floaters from my ED prop. I thought I was done with that.Materials of construction...
Polycarbonate and acrylic both problematic with stress cracking with the wrong chemical environment. These spikes weren't intended for oil based gear.

off to the next thing I guess
Project of the year! Thank you very much and appreciate your diligent assessment!! Keep it going. Should be completely gone in a few days, ouch. You can see the whole inside of the spike up into the housing looks degraded:
We got some action already. It looks like the satilite dish part is starting to laminate off with these strings. I know it is not a part of the internals or what actually touches the oil but worth noting. A few fell right off after I agetated it this morning:

Now, you can see here, that type of plastic is starting to "corrode" (cloudy parts) or break down. It looks like sun damage on an old vehicle when it sits in the sun for too long:

Big difference from yesterday when it was completely clear. Now, you could argue that no one is going to use 100% BB but I would argue that anyone who says it 100% not corrosive, evidence would conclude, less than 24 hours later, its showing signs of degredation.
I threw the last one out that had the cracked housing. I wanted to believe it was the heat. So for the last few days, I have been using no heat which I NEVER thought was possible. Out of that, I realized that I can use my prop with no heat and get no pip.You had these on a few oils right?
Are you still planning to use those oils?
I'm sure the dissolving/melt/leeching or whatever you call it will be accelerated when heat is applied.
Potential follow up experiment. I offer to pitch in to recoup your costs. We got some action already. It looks like the satilite dish part is starting to laminate off with these strings. Not completely related but i used to filter oils heated, was alot quicker..then i ended up melting some syringe plungers, ended up throwing away a whole bunch of oils...and now i filter at either room temperature or cold..

I agree with the guy who is protesting. I mentioned that in post that is not normal circumstances.Potential follow up experiment. I offer to pitch in to recoup your costs.
