And I do not care if in some poses he was able to squeeze his abdominal muscles really hard and "keep it in" or "keep it under control," there is something wrong with bodybuilding if that is what is on an Olympia stage.

Someone posted an almost identical shot of Hadi (rear double from the same angle) and his gut was sticking out like that
Nick's gut control has been problematic in the past but maybe this is something that happens to a lot of guys in poses (like the back double) where no one is looking at their gut

Still shocking Derek took it. There’s side by side comparisons of the 10th place guy and Derek. 10th place had him beat in some spots imo. But yeah obviously lost in major categories to get 10th.

I had Hadi winning it to be honest. I even had Andrew in 2nd over Derek, but I don't like Derek so there is that.

Hadi is great and all but I do not find his physique aesthetic in the least.
What I think will be very interesting is to see if Martin can maintain his lines and conditioning while he goes up in weight. Same for Urs (left calf issue notwithstanding). Derek is already blocky and full of oil. Nick is a mess. Samson I think can find the right combination next year. Andrew can also refine some areas and learn some better stage presence. But what I'm most looking forward to is Urs after a real off season and Martin with an extra 10 lbs on him (not that it will all happen in the next year)

I genuinely think if it was a business op, the IFBB would've made Samson Mr O again. What Samson has done as Mr Olympia far exceeded Derek's reign in the past. Samson travelled all over the world from shows to expos, and seminars etc. all over EU, NA, and parts of Asia.
Seriously tho, Derek has done fuck all as a Pro in terms of putting BBing on the map.

But HGH is been abused by other divisions as well, you rarely see any classic competitors with a gut like that. Maybe they all contribute but I'd guess shoving down crazy amounts of food might be the biggest culprit. Or carbing up like crazy in peak week, i don't know..
A friend of mine believes it's from reta and the slowing of gastric emptying, but still..i doubt it's from this, also we don't even know if last weeks of prep he used it.
