PRC designates 13 chemical precursors used to make fentanyl and agrees to control 7 chemical subsidiaries

This isn't direct 'steroid news' but I would imagine that this could impact the future of the market because I don't think it is a stretch to assume that the same chemical subsidiaries would also be the ones producing raws.

I might be (I hope I am) totally wrong in my assumptions, though. Maybe smarter guys can chime in and talk me off the ledge

They are not the only ones who can make raws. However, those massive Chemical companies were the only ones with the facilities and equipment to make these massive batches causing prices to be so low. Other people will step in, Production is not massively difficult, the difficult thing is consistently producing MASSIVE batches and keeping logistics in place.

The title of the post is the gist of it. But here is the text from the x post:

> BREAKING: In an enormous victory, FBI Director Kash Patel announces the pipeline to create fentanyl has been SHUT DOWN IN MEXICO and worldwide, saving tens of thousands of Americans

"Effective immediately, President Trump has shut off the pipeline that creates fentanyl that kills tens of thousands of Americans! These substances are now BANNED and they will no longer be utilized by the Mexican drug trafficking organizations or any other DTOs around the world to make this drug!"

"The Chinese government agreed on a plan to stop fentanyl precursors. What does that mean? The People's Republic of China has fully designated and listed ALL 13 precursors utilized to make fentanyl."

"They have agreed to control 7 chemical subsidiaries that are also utilized to produce this lethal drug."

"This historic achievement has saved tens of thousands of lives. This historic achievement would not have been possible without the tremendous team of President Trump, the Attorney General, the Department of Justice, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Ambassador Perdue in China."

Just WOW. This is massive! It can't be talked about enough.

That clears it up

The adjusted *Catalog of Easy-to-Manufacture Toxic Chemicals Exported to Specific Countries (Regions)* and *Catalog of Specific Countries (Regions)* are hereby published. Starting from the date of issuance of this announcement, exports of the chemicals listed in Part I of Attachment 1 to the United States, Mexico, and Canada shall require a permit application in accordance with the *Interim Provisions on the Administration of Exports of Easy-to-Manufacture Toxic Chemicals to Specific Countries (Regions)*. Exports to other countries (regions) do not require a permit application.

None of the chemicals listed are remotely related to AAS.

They’re not even “banned”, there’s no mention of shutting anyone down. In fact in China’s official government announcement, they remind chemical manufacturers they can still make and sell them to countries other than the US, Canada, or Mexico.

Stop trying to connect fentanyl precursors to AAS.

Here’s the relevant part,

TLDR:

TO ALL CHEMICAL SELLERS AND SHIPPING COMPANIES: MAKE SURE YOU COMPLY WITH THE DRUG LAWS OF THE COUNTRIES YOU’RE EXPORTING TO, *ESPECIALLY THE UNITED STATES* (we don’t want the 20% drug penalty tariff to return)

After reading what Ghoul added, maybe this is more about export of certain chemicals. The notion of them taking over chemical subsidiaries raised my eyebrow, though.

That was a mistranslation. China agreed to stop precursor SUBSIDIES. One way China “encouraged” fentanyl production was by setting up a SUBSIDY system to make exporting those precursors more profitable than they already were. As conspiratorial as it sounds. That’s exactly what they were doing. While the ruling Chinese Communist Party maintained plausible deniability (we’re just helping out our chemical industry, wink wink), this policy was understood to be a hostile act intended to flood “enemy” countries with fentanyl.

Makes me wonder just how much this market is worth. What would and wouldn't make sense from a capex perspective to enter and fill the void. If the entry barriers are high for even modest scale production, which I assume they are, it would be hard to see anyone new stepping in given that the investment could be seized at any moment for a total loss. I will send Bezos a business plan drawn in crayon outlining what needs to be done.

My bad thanks for adding color.

It’s been a year. No one’s stepped up.

Before China was the source it was Pharma factories in Mexico and Eastern Europe.

AAS raws have never been made on a small scale, and there’s never been a small underground manufacturer of raws, in the US or elsewhere as far as I’ve seen.

Like you suggested, it looks like it needs to be made on a large commercial scale, and made in real factories, not some Walter White sized lab to make sense.

I expected things like Testosterone, which China is a huge producer of for the Pharma industry, to stay available since it could easily slip out of the back door of a legit manufacturer.

But another part of the Chinese government’s warning to Pharma chemical manufacturers was that they’d better not “lose” any chemicals:

It is.

The use of “subsidiaries” by the FBI guy in his speech also seems to be confusing some (& quite understandably so): he’s not referring to manufacturers, but other chemicals involved in the production process of fent. I wonder if he’s confusing the word with “intermediaries”?

Just thinking aloud, but I wonder if this legal move by the PRC will speed up a return to normal for AAS raws? They aren’t going to want chemical manufacturing factories sitting idle & not contributing to their economy.

Edit: just seen Ghoul’s comments about Chinese government subsidies

Tbf most raws are somewhat easy to make for most trained chemists, and not undoable for amateur chemists. a used setup worth around 2K and you can start making 19-nors starting from Estrone/ Estradiol forms which are easy to purchase privately. DHTs are tougher, and test itself just takes a while (minimum 4 full steps from the precursors and chemistry papers i have found)
Accurate temps, adequately cleaned equipment, and proper mixing for larger batches would be my main concern.

All of this is only for small batches, below 100g final product.

I have seen some cook barrels for test (5kg), which turned out to yield shit quality due to improper mixing and uneven heating. Nasty wasteful stuff.

Purification can be done tho, as we have seen in my third favorite thread on here. Works great as our friend from norse mythology showed us.

Lastly,
Esterfication could be done by a retarded monkey, so thats not your problem.
Just get the base, add acetic, oenanthic or decanoic anhydride, an acid that shall not be named, another ingredient i have written down somewhere, mix, heat , et voila.

But these yields would not be economical? I imagine you could bootstrap your way to small yields but the pricing would be wild given that it would leave very little room for seizures, etc. People tend to figure shit out if there is enough money to be made, but I am just not sure that there is in this case. I have no idea to be honest, just a retarded monkey who is interested.

Thanks for sharing this info

The truth is in the middle. I don't believe 100% what Trump says and I don't believe 100% what China media says.
They always put the lights right to look good for people to be deceived by their speech, statistics or actions

We shall see. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.
