First, of course it's possible. I've been advocating doing it this way for 12 years now. It works, period.
It's kind of unfortunate that many continue to insist it won't work -- without ever trying, of course, but out of some idea that they can simulate it in their head and "prove" it won't work.
As to the "patience" aspect: it's much kinder on the muscle for the oil to flow in slowly. This is actually an advantage of the 29 gauge. It is quite difficult to deliberately inject as slowly when using a 23 gauge -- it becomes much too easy to push the oil in at a rate far faster than it could possibly seep between muscle fibers.
you can advocate it all you want - good for you- it does not work for me however - I inject anywhere and everywhere with a 23 gauge 1 inch pin - no problems
What do you mean by "does not work" ?
You don't get the solution injected into you? That would be what I would mean by not working.
If you are not getting the solution injected into you then there is a problem with how you are doing it.
Perhaps rather than meaning it doesn't work, you mean you don't care for it, perhaps out of 30 seconds being more time than you care to devote or some other reason.
But to me it's confusing to other people to see a veteran write that it doesn't work when what he actually means is that it works but he doesn't have the patience, or some othe reason.
I really don't understand what you mean: above, I'm just guessing as that is all that seems possible.

For Millard & Bill. I have tried to inject oils through a 29 g and found it next to impossible. I'm saying I could not do it w/o extreme thumb pressure over a ridiculously extended time period, and that made it tough to hold the needle steady. It may be that I just tired my thumb out or that I had extra thick oil, but, as Buddy said, the 25 g was as high as I could reasonably go — and that took way too fucking long.
Plus 1/2" is too short to make sure all the oil stays in one's muscle (for anywhere but one's rib cage, pecs, or abs).
23g & 1.5" deep into the tissue makes for a happy BB who never wastes his product.
This is all my opinion, of course, but it is an experienced opinion.

Recently, out of having my massage therapist notice "knots" in my quads and working on them, and my not choosing to say No that's an injection site, I had my wife do glute injections with the half-inch 29 gauge in the days shortly before the appointment, as I would find that site awkward.
She didn't find it too difficult.
I just can't understand the claims of incredible pressure being needed. Now I could maybe flatter myself and assume my thumb is far stronger than the thumbs of those saying it's just too hard, but given that my wife had no trouble, I just can't see this.
Besides, I routinely do the injections with what is a quite light pressure for me.
I am guessing that those saying it is impossible have a mindset that this is a drag race that should be finished in 3 seconds, and find 30 seconds (for example) to be just far more time than their busy days can accomodate
Really. Truly. A woman can do it in 30 seconds and find the job easy.
(As to why the medical profession uses thicker and longer needles: They really DON'T want to spend 30 seconds on something they can do in 3 seconds, regardless that the more gradual injection would be better for the patient; and many of their patients are fat tubs of lard. So this does not prove anything with regard to bb'ing use.)

Rather than trying to imagine it, actually trying it would be the way to know.
Bill, is there a certain way that you draw with a slin pin that differs from larger guages? I have heard that some remove the plunger and fill the barrel using another syringe...your thought on this method? I, and I'm sure may others, would rather use a slin pin any day over a larger pin. Apparently we are not going about the injection correctly. Your insight would be appreciated.

In all the medical schools of the world they teach them to use 21 to 23g for IM injections and they say the larger the muscle group and the deeper the needle goes in, the better. I suspect there has to be some reasoning behind this...
