TRT therapy killing sex drive

I am a 55 year old male, 5 ft 10, 195 lbs in good shape. I began TRT 3 years ago to combat andropause and have seen some benefits but the TRT is killing my sex drive and erections.

Been to 5 Doctors with no help.

I have tried Test Cypionate, clomid, and now HCG. The situation has been the same in all three, feel better at first, sex improves, and then it deteriorates back to whaere it was. Before TRT I was good for sex 2-3 times a week, now I can go for a month easily. Once I was on a Medrol dose pack of prednisone for an ear problem and the sex was great until 2 days after the medicine ran out.

Estradiol 25
Hemogloblin 18.8
Glucose 64
Chol 176
HDL 46
LDL 81

We tested my Prolactin one month and it was within normal range and my AM cortisol was 17.

I tried 3000mg Vitamin C for two months, it helped initially and then back in a rut.

Have you had your thyroid checked? Also,if prednisone made you feel better that could mean your adrenals are slacking. . Definitely should get thyroid checked with the right tests if you havent done so already.

i've been on test cyp at 100 mgs for 9 months with 250 iu of hcg twice per week. past month my sex drive has dropped alot. took 1.25 mg of femara the other day.. woulod arimidexd be better. i am guessing my estrogen levels are elevated..no other reason for my libido to of dropped after it was so high for so long. if it was thyroid or adrenal,test would not of worked for 8 months.

I dont know man. The thyroid can be tricky. When the problems start with a thyroid it kind of dies in jumps and starts sometimes. At least in my experience.

Check SHBG. If low, TRT is doing more harm than good for you. Investigate thyroid, adrenals and insulin levels.

Globulins.
They act as a hormonal resevoir and as such tend to maintain homeostasis.
Globulins bind with hormones and render them inactive untill the serum level drops below a critical value and then release them. homeostasis.
One of two processes are occuring.
Either you havent saturated your globulins, the T goes into them first mostly, or you have too much aromitization enzyme, Not likely.
A simple test would be to inject a good dose T IM and see what happens to libido.
If it increases then the globulins are saturated and excess is free to do its work/

Can you explain why the vitamin C would have helped? Whats the science behind this? Thanks,

I don't understand the post about Globulins.

High vitamin C will reduce cortisol output.

libido with androgel is great with many, but not all, of us. I am literally horny all the time. I highly recommend this product to increase testosterone and to boost libido to 30 year old levels!!

Whenever my T is increasing, either through shots or uping the dosage of clomid or HCG, my libido has come back and then shortly after, it is gone. Something in my body is adjusting for the higher T and rendering it inactive.
