First, this is not a democracy - it is a Republic. Second, Hitler came to power because a few were willing to kill and terrorize the many, who cowered in fear. Those willing to use such tactics usually end up the victors so I don't buy for one second there are going to be "fair" elections. We just allowed the creation of another theocracy and it won't be by the will of the people. Not good news.

You are splitting hairs and avoiding the issue. Do you believe in free elections and the will of the majority or not?

Extremism Iran style. The Obambi administration saying the Muslim brotherhood is secular. Yeah, the name sure sounds secular to me and the platform is so peaceful and secular. What a bunch of BS. In my own words and I stick to them. Anyone who thinks this is going to turn out well has not spent two minutes studying history. I doubt the even cracked a history book on the Middle East. Bambi stabs Israel in the back, sets the stage for a military dictatorship or, worse, another theocracy hell bent on a caliphate.

Even heard of Iran? What did Bambi say during the Iranian protests? I have a picture of him enjoying an ice cream while innocent students were being slaughtered.

Nuff said.

ROFLMAOPIMP! Carter on the Middle East. Now that's precious. The guy that created the Iran we all know and love today an expert on the Middle East. Well, at least he is not the worst president in history anymore.

i dont think the muslim brotherhood is not anything to be afraid of in the upcoming elections. they are radical. any alternatives. admittedly im not a middle east expert. and zawahiri was mb. but became more radical and formed egyptian islamic jihad. are they the same. ill let someone else figure this out. but we definatly dont need islamic law anywhere. or any other religious laws.

Greg, you still havent answered my basic question. Do you believe in majority rule or that an elite minority should call the shots and make the rules?
This is the issue that Jefferson and the others faced when writing our constitution.
They went with a representative democracy, which reflects the will of the majority.
What if our constitution were implemented in Egypt and anti-Americans won fair and square?
Would you respect their decision?

Cornel West posed this question recently on Real Time with Bill Mahr.
I think it is a valid, reasonable and important question.

Hint: they won't be free elections as Bruce McQuain in the QANDO.NET piece pointed out for those less able to gauge how things actually work in the Middle East.

Ladies and gentlemen, right on queue: http://turtlebay.foreignpolicy.com/posts/2011/02/16/in_major_reversal_us_to_rebuke_israel_in_security_council

I can't wait for Israel to tell Babmi to STFU and go play with his balls.
