" Dont no body Wanna Lift this Heavy ass Weight. "
" Fuckin Ronnie - Ill do it tho "
But wait, I was told that it is easy to look like a wrold class BB, all I had to do was take steroids. You mean I have to work hard?
That was 800 lbs I believe....I saw the clip before, can't remember how many reps he got, but it was impressive. Ronnie is/was a hard trainer.....the only person who trained even harder was Dorian. My former (deceased) best friend was a powerlifter (squated 681 at 181 lbs) and I would slap him in the face pretty hard as he would prep for a set.
Nowadys, it kills me, watching all these lazy F%$# sit on machines text messaging. And then they don't understand why they are not getting any results. I ask if I can work in and they act like I am trying to deny them their Constitutional rights. When I started training, you did not treat gym equipment as furniture, you did a 100% set and let the other guy work in.
I do try and be as polite as possible. My favorite is when they say "I only have 2 more sets" as they sit on their ass and check their e-mail. Some understand how a gym actually works, and I always try and be as helpful as possible if they let me work in. Yesterday a guy let me work in. I did a set and then went to adjust the weight back and he said "I am no where near as strong as you." I said "It is all good my friend just put all your effort into doing the best you can. If you keep pushing yourself harder to do more weight, or more reps, do you know what will happen?"
He said "what?" I said, "you are going to get stronger."
One thing I think we all need to be aware of is that it can be pretty intimidating for average folk to watch some of us train. My wife says I look scary when I train, and yes, when I start talking to myself to psych up for a brutal set of heavy weight
I can come off as a bit of a maniac, but I always try and be as nice and friendly as possible immediately after a set for about a minute or so. But about 30 seconds before the next set I have my game face on.
