A _____ man faces felony counts for selling 18,000 doses of illegal steroids and hundreds of doses of drugs that help with male sexual dysfunction. (Correction: The number of charges that are felonies has been clarified in this story.)

______ Area Drug and Gang Enforcement (MADGE) investigators are still looking into how Rafael Rene Fernandez, 39, received such large amounts of liquid anabolic steroid, Viagra and Cialis.

These drugs require a prescription to obtain, MADGE Lt. Brett Johnson said.

"We believe (Fernandez) was getting these drugs through the mail," Johnson said.

On Wednesday, MADGE investigators served a search warrant at Fernandez's house on Cedar Links Drive. They found 18,000 doses of liquid anabolic steroid, 250 doses of Viagra and 1.8 pounds of a white powder believed to be Viagra and Cialis, Johnson said.

Investigators believe Fernandez was operating an ad hoc pharmacy out of his home, Johnson said.

"He was making the capsules himself and blending the steroids with sterile water to make it into a larger quantity product," Johnson said.

The steroids and capsules were placed in homemade packaging labeled "Superior Labs," a company that Fernandez made up, perhaps in an effort to give his products an image of legitimacy.

MADGE found sales records and $15,707 in cash, which is believed to be the proceeds of drug sales, Johnson said.

"It looked to be quite a profitable business for him based on the proceeds we found at the house," Johnson said. "However, he was not a doctor or a pharmacist."

MADGE is investigating whether Fernandez had any local buyers. It is believed he was selling to people from out of the area, based on the amount of drugs found inside the home.

"We think he was packaging it and selling it to other dealers across the country," Johnson said.

This is most likely the largest steroid bust in ______ police history, Johnson said.

"We've never had an anabolic steroid case this large," he said. "We've caught people with user quantities, but never dealer quantity like this."

Johnson said the availably of these drugs through the mail is troubling.

"You can certainly find this stuff and order it from other countries," Johnson said.

Fernandez was lodged in the ______ County Jail on charges of delivery, manufacture and possession of steroids, delivery, manufacture and possession of Viagra and deliver and manufacture of Cialis.

I will be doing more research tonight, but it seems to be a big source has gone down...

Thank god. With this guys bust all crime in the world will end tomorrow.

So why are they wasting time if they have to set up a city/county gang unit? Obviously there's a gang problem.

Well we have lots of money in our state and we have a large influence of Hispanic gangs, gotta spend the tax payers money somehow I guess...

Its F'ing amazing what people think and say!!!! It's also a very Liberal news source

Its amazing that any of us are able to pull ourselves away from our murderous, quick-tempered rage for long enough to string a few sentences together online.

What a joke.

Although, I agree it IS cheating. If you're an athlete who still competes in a sport where AAS use is banned that is.

So I guess Taiwanese ping pong players can do what they wish, free of moral ambiguity.

The personal trainer quoted above, and surprising many others, seem to believe it's still cheating for people not in drug-tested sports e.g. bodybuilders who do it for their own personal goals.

After suspicions of illegally obtaining steroids, officials went to the man’s residence in Medford seeking evidence where they then found approximately 18,000 doses of a liquid anabolic steroid, 250 doses of suspected Viagra, and 1.8 pounds of a white powder substance believed to be Viagra and Cialis. Investigators also found packaging materials, scales, drug records, and $15,707 in U.S. currency which is alleged proceeds of drug trafficking.

Wow.

What a d.b. that trainer was.

"...you won't have to work as hard".."I've seen a lot of guys come in with breast tissue".

Unbelievable

Well that makes absolutely zero sense.

AAS imo, shouldn't be banned from sport either.

AAS use yields an athlete who is clinically enhanced in a similar way to a football player who takes a pain-killing shot at half-time. Both are using compounds to push their bodies beyond the point where PHYSIOLOGICALLY their bodies are disposed to stop. Both are taking inherent risks to do so.

But, the mere fact that a governing body exists, and has deemed one option illegal, creates the moral paradox.

I was kicked out of the Chess Club because of my AAS use and my RAGE! LOL

:offtopic:

And people wonder why our country is headed to the sh!tter...People like this DB run it with no F'ing clue as to the reality of anything...

RIP media credibility. There's a reason why any good college professor won't let you quote media or wikipedia pages.

No one in that story had a clue about the bullshit they were spewing.

The term "cheater" , very much like the term "racist" has devolved into a verbal hand grenade that can be lobbed into a discussion ,serving only to shut down any further meaningful dialogue. It doesn't matter what the actual definition of the word is.

Interesting opinion. I tend to disagree on the grounds that "racist" carries colloquial connotations of believing one race's superiority over the other, or hating one race.

"Cheating" or "cheater" however could be defined by any 2nd grader as someone who breaks the rules in a competition. Even if everyone else is cheating, thereby creating an equal playing field for the cheaters to compete on, it doesn't change the fact that rules were imposed, and subsequently broken.

I don't think the trainer was
being unreasonable with what he said.

I'm sure everyone here knows there could
be rage, breast tissue, with the use of AAS...

It's also much easier to build muscle without
working out as hard, but that's not to say alot of
guys don't work out much harder when using AAS.

Who even knows why he said those things.
Maybe he has seen the bad side effects or maybe he
is just saying it, cause he is on TV and knows it's the right thing to say.

I would put AAS down if I was asked about them on TV.
Shit, why the hell would I want to promote gear
when that just means more guys around me using it lol

They are never going to make it legal without
a script, so fuck it...
AAS causes cancer the first time you use it,
so give me the rest of your shit, so I can
properly dispose of it. .. right in my blood :p

Cheating? They still say that shit.
It's only cheating if you get caught.

Good Lord, could that personal trainer be any more ignorant?

I have a question: Was he found with 18k vials, or 18K doses? They say doses, but do they mean 10 doses per vial?

I ask, because that is an important factor in terms of the scope of his operation. I buy from my source purely for personal use, and for a 5-6 month period. However, if we count each cc as a dose suddenly my personal use becomes 10 times larger. I am also concerned about the PED5 bust. I went to have a script for 15 tabs of cialis....price was $308!!! So, I use the Chem meso products, where cost is less than 10% of that^.

I decided a while back to not get anyone anything, even though I have a good source. I see so much idiotic use of gear around me that I don't want anything to do with these fools. However, if each cc is a "dose" LE might consider me to be a "trafficker."
