It's the way to go, partner. Also, if you're in the us and ordering from an international source in certain areas and you live on the West Coast and select other zips, a remailer located on the East Coast or New York is advisable.Hello All:
Question on staying safe ordering gear.
My mailbox has once again had another outbreak of theclap.
Anyone use a mailbox service? IE UPS store for delivery.
Pros
Cons

Lower success rate of delivery if you live on the east coast and source is in Asia and some other spots. Many sources won't tell customers this.
The remailer if you have a an addy like I do makes the odds less that customs will snag your shit and inspect. Statistics...odds....ya can't fuck with math...the numbers. Thanks for the info. I see UPS needs 2 forms of ID so I dont know how that would keep you safe..
I did see some forwarding services online that don't require an ID but you still have to put your "contact" information in. But the one I read says they can inspect the package if need be...
Maybe I am being overly paranoid.

Are you saying to have Asia mail remailed to
an East Coast address, if you live on West Coast?
Then say East Coast has less success rate
from Asia?
I hear the West Coast deliveries have problems
and not East Coast. ... True?
Any reason to mess with it if you use a domestic source?
West coast addresses have a lower success rate as far as the packs making it through customs. So what you do is hire a remailer in New York or east coast. The remailer simply forwards your mail to your addy on the west coast. Your pack has cleared customs so now you're good to go.
Some online sources will insist you do this if you wanna do business because more paks get snagged depending on your zip code.
Again, there is nothing shady about using a remailer.
Just to be clear--is domestic pretty safe to your door? Is there anything extra I can do/should do to cover myself when buying domestic?
Just make sure you buy from someone who ships in a smart way.
There are rules that USPS will look for when sorting mail.
excessive taping on seams
Return address in a different county than where the pack was mailed from
No name on return address
Recipient name having no link to the address...(meaning using a fake name and shipping to your home address could be counter-productive)
These all throw up bells. And yet many UGL's and retarded resellers don't even know this.
