Who are these guys remailing $1.8 million steroid for?

This happened on March 1, 2013. Does the timing match any recent source delivery problems?

A six-month investigation led to the March 1 arrest of Zachery Wilkins, 33, and Holly Fiato, 28, of 111 Washington Ave., Sheriff Jack Mahar said Monday. Wilkins and Fiato were released without bail on a charge of felony criminal possession of a controlled substance. The felony carries a sentence of up to 7 years in state prison.

District Attorney Richard McNally said the couple is cooperating with investigators. As middlemen for the steroids distribution, Wilkins and Fiato would receive the steroid doses and pills in the mail and forward them to another address as directed, McNally said. Based on information provided to investigators, the couple was provided with fake identification, including a Florida driver's license, and used post office boxes and local UPS drop-offs for moving the drugs, McNally said. It appears that the drug distribution has links to China, according to the district attorney.

Police seized 44,825 liquid doses of steroids and 289,550 pharmaceutical pills, according to the sheriff's office. Police also confiscated two shotguns and packaging materials.

They mentioned links to China but that could be false info. Why would anyone want to be the middleman for moving that much merchandise?

Hopefully they have a nest egg for great lawyers..

It's a good question. Remailers don't have to build a customer base or handle customer service - they rely on reputation of established (and presumably successful) parent UGL. Less profit percentage but more volume. The downside is obvious when they're busted - they're more likely to be caught with 1.8 million dollars in steroids and the extra legal risk that goes along with such volume.

Here we go - it looks like a bunch of counterfeits e.g. British Dragon, Quality Vet, Denkall, etc. What else can you guys make out?

Look at the big boxes in the background. Looks like they are full of individual packages that customers will never receive...

It looks like there's some chinese GH in there -- kigtropin?

I'd like to know how they determined it's worth $1.8 million. Going by the numbers of doses they gave in the article, I calculated a street value of less than $500 K and that was being generous with pricing for ugl gear. I think you'd need some pretty highly motivated buyers to get $1.8M. Regardless, it probably won't make much difference for the couple involved, either way.

No doubt it started out like 1.8 million until the agents started pocketing gear!

Now what is the upstream risk? Do they sellout their suppliers and high volume buyers? Did they sell to small order folks or were they bulk suppliers?

How do you let that much product sit in one place?

Looks like uncle z's resend is now on hold :D

The fucking Feds always inflate the street value of busts so they can push harsher charges.

At least they were smart enough to
Go to the 99 cent store, for their ziplocks...
Huge savings .. Probably not important, at
This point, but still a good sense choice..

I can picture the nerds giving each other
Hi fives after they set that all up..

"Hey everyone, the captain is
Buying the donuts all week.. Hippppiiieeee"

If that was my bust, 14 ... Maybe 14 bottles of that shit
Would have made it back to headquarters ...

Would have came out to $180 ...
Bail set at $12, your free to go

Would you say the names and addresses on those packages would have any real concerns or repercussions? Like a watch on their mail or something?

To say that something of that nature would be extremely rare, would be an extreme overstatement, IME. Barring a circumstance where you were ordering for your entire gym.

They very well might for customers ordering distributor quantities. It's highly unlikely they would do it for personal amounts.

This is all just conjecture, but yeah depending on the amount........ I think the bigger issue probably was how much info they mined from his computer, and that he co-operated with LE...... Basically everybody he even knew about would be named.

Why x2?

It's one thing to import a couple packs of powder and make your own by converting to thousands of vials. It's another to import 4000+ vials finished product plus 100s of 1000s tabs.

If remailer for Chinese source, why wouldn't source use multiple remailers to distribute risk? OR did they think they had a "fullproof" importation system? Or did they really care too much about remailer e.g. small cost of doing business?
