Negatives

Lol Negative-centric? If any thing bro just call them negatives. The correct term would be the eccentric motion of the lift.

I don't know what you're asking, but Dante Trudel (doggcrapp training) has some good bits on training the eccentric. One that sticks out is finishing a set to failure and racking after the eccentric, rather than completing a rep, racking, and missing that last opportunity for growth. I like it.

So basically, one of my chest workouts involves doing a six second negative with a one second positive for eight reps. Something along those lines. Just trying to add a little more variety.

I'm also not 100% clear on what you're asking. I know butterfly pullups (think crossfit) get hated on but they create quite a bit of eccentric action - lots of DOMS to follow. They're kind of in between a plyometric and an eccentric. Of course a lot of people jack up their shoulders and get labrum damage because they can't stay in control.

Great for a finisher on Squats and Benches at the end of a heavy cycle, I like to do as many 10 sec negatives in a set and try to beat that next workout, they can drain your recovery if your strong and using heavy wt or too often.

Hook,

That sounds like what I'm looking for. How often, how many sets/reps, what percentage of weight in relation to 1rm?

I usually go 60-70% of max 1-2 sets (usually just one) 10 sec negative reg speed positive at the end of a Powerlifting cycle, I just go by feel a lot of years doing this lets me know how much and often I should do, usually 2-3 weeks in a row then rest for a few weeks with negatives.

So this guy is a homosexual for engaging in a movement that you don't have a preference for. Perhaps you should check out his lifting numbers - pretty impressive across the board and his work capacity is outstanding. Why so judgemental?
That's gay and so is that guy ..

It's a kip, but I am not surprised
Some fag came up with butterfly ...

Negatives don't build muscle
Any more than positives, but they
Do take longer to recover from...

Think tension it's no secret

Exactly

I don't know what his sexual preference is for sure but that looks absolutely retarded.. No offense to anyone that enjoys this move but I don't see the need to wiggle around like a fish on a hook. That move would stir up quite a few laughs at my gym.

I smell a fight coming on...

II'm not a big fan of kipping. I like strict pullups however, I can see kipping for an end of workout exercise.

As far as negatives not working, from my limited experience I have broken through some PR's but I'm not sure what's effective with all body parts

I am only being an ass, as usual..

BTW, I am not impressed by weight lifted,
I can see he is nothing to look at...

212lbs 7% BF with 19" cut arms impresses me,
Not power lifting numbers..

Anyone can get strong, but
Not everyone is disciplined enough
To look as good as the numbers they push..

I mean really, I warm up with 475 on bench, for 10 easy reps...

Wait, those are 12.5lb plates not 125 .. Whatever
