Hello folks, I have a couple concerns I want to throw out there and see if I can good some good advice.
I was in a serious M/C accident in 2006 and cut my L/H diaphram wide open on a speed limit sign. I am told my lung and spleen were on the sidewalk next to me when the found me. I severed many nerves going to my stomach and oblique muscles and have a small football sized mound on my L/H stomach where they put back my organs.
Just this april I underwent Neck surgery from damage caused from my accident. My left bicep and tricep and shoulder have serious atrophy as the result of pinched nerves. My left arm and hand went numb for a couple months. I have since had cervical surgery on my C4,5 and C5,6 discs and the numbness and tingling are gone but I'm having a hell of a time trying to regain strength. My bicep and tricep are coming along well but my L/H shoulder seems almost dead compared to my right side. While doing standing military presses using light weight, I find that I cant straighten out my left arm at the elbow when at the top of the movement. This happens only after about 6 or 7 reps and doesn't matter what weight I use.
Also when I do bench press I have to seriously lower my weight I'm pressing because my L/H side is so far behind than my right. I've been trying to strengthen things up for the past 6 months but it's a slow and almost no go. Had my surgery in April.
Does anyone have any ideas on what I might try to get these muscles back into shape other then what I'm doing? For my shoulders, my front and side lateral raises seem to be evenly matched between sides but like I mentioned, my bench press and military press are AFU because my left side is so weak, almost dead IMO.
Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks
