First cycle- Competition Mode

Getting ready for my first show in July. I need to know whats best for me to start on with my first cycle. I been lifting for about 18 years on and off. I've been going hard for the past 2 years. My trainer said to do 500-700 Test C for 8-12 weeks then Nolvadex for 2-3 weeks then start again. Plus some wen also. Two of my buddys said only start off with 200-250 on my first cycle of Test. So Im not sure which way to go and If I got the right idea about when to use the Nolvadex and do I use anything else with it during my cycle. Whats better to use Test C or Sustanon on my first cycle. Honestly Im not sure which route to go but I want to be at the top of my game in July. I have the proper meal plan and workout routine, now just need to pack on some hard lean muscle and lean out to streads..

Age: 36

Height: 5'7

Weight: 238lb

Body Fat: 25%

I want to compete at about 205-212 Heavy Weight Division with about 6-8% body fat.

Thanks In Advance!

So you want to do a show in july and your at 25% bf right now. I hope you are talking about a cutting cycle? Second your "trainer" sounds like he has no idea what he is talking about! Third are we talk human pharma grade test c or sust or ugl? My opinion on that is if it pharma grade I tent to be a little more on your friends side with fist cycle ever, if its ugl then maybe higher dose would be better cause they just don't pack the same punch. But you are missing a whole lot of info such and possible ai's need at 500-600mg of test. Nolva as your only pct may not be that bright of a why to go at your age. You talk about two cycles kind how long between each one are you planning? what do you plan to use for the second? etc.

yeah I was thinking more of a cutting cycle. its pharm grade test. He said I should wait two to three weeks before I start another cycle. if I go the cutting cycle way would I still put on muscle while I lose the fat. Any good cutting stscks you can suggest

On a first cycle! Oh hell!

What type of comp are you doing? Bodybuilding or strength? Typical first cycles are something like 500mgs of test e or c a week for 10 to 12 weeks. You can kick it off with an oral but you need to know how your body reacts.

I'd say drop the body fat to about 15% then think about gear.

second that!

not only that... you have a lot to learn before running gear...

do a natty show.

find a new trainer that knows what he's talking about... and cautions you exactly what will and wont happen to your body.

2 or 3 weeks between cycles??? why bother...

My last cut stack was Test Prop, Tren Ace and winny. I logged it during the spring/summer. Pretty good recomp.

Keep in mind this is your first cycle and try to get your bf% down. You gotta keep your diet in check, gear isn't a magic pill. Well maybe tren is.

I am going to save you a tremendous amount of heartache. I don't post here much, due to the open source talk and lack of competitors, but felt compelled. This is a good forum for safety and recreational steroid use. You will be advised to first get your diet in order, and then run a test only cycle.

Excellent advice. Please heed it. You can eventually get on stage, but it would take a full year to prep you properly.

Please do not compete before you are ready, you will be crushed. All the work, your friends will buy tickets, but only the top 5 will make the night show and your friends will wonder why they did not see you? Actually, you will walk out for a second, and then walk back. It will be very embarrassing.

6-8% bodyfat is way too high, even w/ diuretics you will be smooth.

You do have a # of things working for you: Many years of natural training. Excellent, doing so gives you the necessary base upon which to benefit from gear. Also, you are a perfect age for steroids, as your natural production has probably dropped 12-16% from it peak and will continue to decline.

You will compete wherever you look best, but w/ your bf level it would be at around 185 lbs right now or less. By next year I can have your bf down dramatically and put 15 lbs of muscle on you. If you are committed, I can make you a champion. The most important thing is not gear, it is your drive and desire to win. You have to absolutely bust your ass and work harder than ever before.

As suggested, lets get your diet and training down first. You are going to do 30 minutes of cardio year round, except for pre-contest, when it increases. I generally favor more food, but we have to find what works for you.

You need to get baseline labs, we will read them together.

We will run a test only cycle w/ Tamox, w/ helps w/ weight loss and possibly a touch of AI. After a full pct, another test cycle, but this time we will add GH. To be honest, since I started running GH I eat 5K calories a day and below is a pic after only 2 kits of Rips and a moderate steroid cycle.

At your age, you will see tremendous results from GH. Run a small amount (1.5-2 IU's a day) continuously, until 2 weeks before your show.

Your third-pre contest cycle we will run multiple compounds, tren, Mast, orals, T/3 beta agonists ets. However, it would be a huge mistake to run this type of cycle right now.

I have referrals and am very reasonably priced.

As a few others have mentioned, hold off on doing your show. There's no possible way you will come in like you want, the time simply isn't there. Your LBM indicates that you would need to cut down to middleweight (185) to be competitive, but that's only if you did nothing but focus on getting shredded from now until then. In case you haven't done the proper research, when you diet, you tend to lose some lean mass with that because it's hard to juggle everything, so 185 isn't even that accurate. Physiologically speaking it's impossible to know where the perfect "zone" is for only losing fat, as far as calorie consumption, cardio + weights, and gear usage. You'd have to be hooked up to machines 24/7. Which, incidentally is why you have tons of trainers out there who all say something slightly different. The best usually have you try something, see how you react and adjust accordingly until they dial in how your particular physiology works. With all due respect to Pericles, not everyone needs to do 30 minutes of cardio every day all year round, nor do some even do any cardio leading up to a show.

I digress though, the point is you will not reach your goal by July no matter what you do from now until then. So, first things first. Fire your trainer for having you believe you actually could :D, then read. Do as much research as possible on your own, or find a reputable coach who has some npc level competitors (or above if you can afford it).

Your goal from here should be to get your bf under control, sitting at 25%, while not unheard of for some guys (lee priest was known to blow up like a blimp in the off-season) definitely isn't the norm. It's also going to be a situation where you know you can get it down to 3-5% to compete because you've done it. Genetics will play a huge role there, and dare I say if you were one of those guys you would already know it. Get it to around 12-15% and then re-assess your situation.

I'm staying away from cycle advice for now, sorry, but I think you've likely already fallen asleep at your keyboard.

....With all due respect to Pericles, not everyone needs to do 30 minutes of cardio every day all year round, nor do some even do any cardio leading up to a show.....

Somewhat correct. Cardio needs vary. However THIS guy needs to do cardio year around.

Furthermore, yes, many do not do a lot of cardio, but it is my experience, the best conditioned guys do. Look at pictures of Flavio Bacchianini. I almost hired him to coach me (went w/ Chris Duffy instead). Both wanted me at 1 hour of cardio by the 12 week out mark and increasing from there. And I was already fairly lean 3 months out. They both advocated eating more food. Lee Priest goes from 3.5 k calories in the offseason, to 4.2k pre contest.

Frank Roberson only does 20 minutes of cardio/day, but it is HIT on a rower. Also, while he has amazing shape, he is not as hard and dense as other pros.

I have also seen this general trend among amateurs. The guys Flavio trained always were the best conditioned.

I'm very lost now, lol. Pericles how do I get in contact with you. My direct email is edieray8@gmail.com. Im really trying to get myself together. I see I messed up last year. I was down in 3 months 35-40 pound i had like 10-15 more pounds to go before I was ripped. I didn't like how little I was getting so I figured I will train hard and eat more to gain muscle and I'm back where I started a year and a half ago. Very frustrated now but Im in it to WIN IT. I have a couple of meals plans that my first trainer gave me when I lost like 35 pounds in 3 months. Eating 6/7 times a day no carbs after 2pm. 1.5 % protein times my weight divided up over 6/7 meals. I need to put on muscle and lean out. I need some real HELP guys. Thanks for all of the reply's!

That's a horrible picture to post to try and get a new client. You look pretty bad man no offense.

And also 1.5 IU's of generics HGH "rips"? are you kidding me.

I agree he needs to get his diet in order first, but 1.5 - 2 IU's of generics will not do shit. Work on Diet first bro and get a better trainer. When it comes to trainers they can charge based on reputation and experience. But whoever your trainer is now is obviously not advising you correctly.

You will need way more time to get stage ready than you think as well. Good luck
