Okay so I prescribe to treat abs like any other muscle, I do lower reps with weight or high reps with no weight. I will even do a heavy 5x5 set with abs what about you guys? How do you train abs?

I don't train abs much to me abs are all diet and all the core strengthening I do takes care of the rest
May I ask what you do for core? And I agree 6 pack abs is diet and your fascia that is under them is more important Vince Granola as I call him cause I can never remember how to spell his name was big on this and didn't like normal crunches and the such he had them doing stomach vacuum exercises that's why Frank Zane had that crazy small waist!

Planks, side planks, weighted superman, then crunches in all 3 directions on the dip bar. Ab roller. That about it.

Abdulterers!!! Thou shall not commit abdultery. Even the Lord Almighty was against ab excercises. Oh wait, that was adultery. Never mind. Carry on.[:o)]

When I hit abs I hit bicycle crunch, flutter kicks, side planks, reverse crunch, and incline reverse crunch . 25 second rest between sets and ooooweee do them abdominals like that:thumbup:

I strictly use bodyweight only, as you get older the abs seem to become naturally larger and doing weighted abs makes it harder to have a tight streamlined waist, it can make you blocky to where your torso appears to go straight up on each side into the lats, not come down to that tight v shape into the waist. I've actually had to back off abs a good bit lately, as well as deadlifts. Deadlifts are great but they can be a double edged sword.

I have heard this as well. So i never do any weighted ab exercises any more.

I like that. It was Gironda, and I'm a big fan of his Stomach Vacuum exercises, they really do work. I do them more now, as I've gotten older..................JP
