lately, after gym, i try to have a little bit of carbs and protein. Is it a good idea to add a little sugar ie from a sugary drink to the mix? give that insulin a little boost just to replenish some muscle gylcogen? or will this simply make me fat?

High GI carbs are great post WO. I prefer to get the insulin spike from primarily lactose and fruits instead of soda and the like but to each his own.

Wasnt that the theory with phosphagen hp. I used to take that back in the day late 90s 2000ish and I coulda swore I was drinking a glass of sugar mixed with a drop of creatine.

high blood glucose can blunt any postworkout exersise induced gh response. whey protien takes about an hour and a half after drinking to peak. perhaps wait an hour after your workout for some carbs. sugar is absorbed quickly and timimg the peak could act synergistically.

lactose is low gi. most fruits are mid-low. its a glycemic index (glucose). both being sugars they do raise insulin though.
