How long do you store your brewing oils?

As per title.
Pure oils, no AAS etc.

MCT / Castor / Mig / whatever

How do you guys store it?
Original plastic container?
Amber sterile vials?
Media bottles?

How long do you store it for?
5 years? 10? 3?
Until the color changes?
Until it smells weird?
Until it finishes?

I recently filtered some of my oils into amber glass bottles, but given how cheap they are, I could just dump it every 2 years and buy small bottles..

Please share.

Depends on the oil the storage time changes a lot. All high unsaturated fats degrade fast and polyunsaturated fats oils degrade even faster. Saturated fats like coconut and palm oil are the opposite.

I store then in media bottle of borosilicate glass. Amber vials are needed only if you can't store them away from lights, so for us not needed at all, it's not like you are showing off your carrier oils on your shelf in the living room xD

Colour and smell are an indication of oxidation and rancidity.

For example EO when it becomes very yellowish it has oxidated quite a lot.

| Carrier Oil | Unopened Shelf Life |
|-------------------------|-----------------------------|
| Grapeseed Oil | 3 – 6 months |
| Sesame Oil | 6 – 12 months |
| Cottonseed Oil | ~1 year |
| Peanut Oil | 6 – 12 months |
| Olive Oil | 1 – 2 years |
| MCT Oil (Fractionated) | 2 – 3 years |
| Safflower Oil | ~1 year |
| Sunflower Oil | 6 – 12 months |
| Jojoba Oil | Indefinite |
| Ethyl Oleate (EO) | 1 – 2 years |
| Miglyol 812 | 2 – 3 years |
| Miglyol 840 | 3+ years

So except for MCT and similar don't buy big quantities.

If you brew it the BA in the solution will help storage life a bit reducing microbial contaminations but the rancidity can't be avoided forever

Looks like both Chinese oils (EO) and GSO aren't meant to be kept long.
Good way to ensure a consistent stream of customers i guess.

I don't remember for sure but i think the Mig840 that i purchased from MedLab did not come sealed..so god knows how long it has been opened for or when was it made. It might probably be best then to just buy smaller amounts and dump it every 2 years..

Mig840 allegedly it has infinite shelf life or well past 5+ years

It has no rancidity risk due to no unsaturated fats contents, microbial risk is close to zero if you brew it because you are adding BA. The only issue can be oxidative degradation but it is very resistant to it.

Of all the oils it is the only one I wouldn't bother worrying about.

GSO on the other hand...

Mig840 really getting attractive more and more. Any other things which people might not know about it?

Yeah, it's highly personal if you get on with it or not xD
Sometime it works for a while and then your body starts rejecting it or it could work for your whole life and no issue.

To be honest, even so I like it, the too low viscosity can be a pain in the ass sometime when it leaks out of the muscle even if you go 1inch deep on the injection and you are fairly lean apart from that is amazing on solubility, smoothness of injection etc

I was planning to brew with GSO / sesame oil, I guess I can just store the vials in the fridge once brewed to stop it going rancid so quickly.

SubQ leak is very common.
Even with airlock technique and waiting 10seconds, quite often, i still get oil leaking out. It's hard to keep it in when it flows like water.

I like it, you can use really small insulin pins (30g etc) and thankfully my body accepts it (based off hsCRP).

However, if castor extends the half life of substances due to it's thickness, then using something this thin might potentially lower the half life.

Most labs only use it for their pre-workout (TNE/Injectable orals) so you probably won't see it often.

I think there are so many other factors to take into consideration.

I think the shelf life is actually much longer, especially with GSO.

Castor should be 5+ years as well
