TRT with Testosterone Undecanoate

I was curious to find out if anyone has had any experience or heard good/bad things about using Testosterone Undecanoate for their TRT. How is it dosed ? is it effective?.

I remember Dr. Scally's seminar and powerpoint presentation and this was touched on, so if he has any words of wisdom that would be cool.

I thiought about it but never quite got around to it.
Its a longer side chain ester than cyp or enan so it takes more passes thru the liver to make it bioactive. So theoretically the peak you get with the shorter esters wouldnt be so pronounced and the half-life longer - less frequent dosing and a smoother ride. But more of a load on the liver.

Yea I have heard people are taking 1 injection every 10 weeks. That is so long !! I am curious to see if anyone here has had a experience using this. Maybe Dr. Scally has used this for his patients before, hoping he can give some insight.

Nebido was recently shot down by the FDA if i remember correctly so you can't get it in the US, only in Europe.

If I remember correctly, according to the data there were long periods (weeks) where blood levels were below average. For me, I like stable, steady blood levels so even if Nebido is approved I will stick with cyp injected 2x/week.

I took a 4ml shot (standard dosage) about a month ago. Did the blood work this mornign and the Total T was 673 (it was <200 before TRT).

The injection was a bit painful, but it was far better than the pain-in-the-ass Vitamin B injection I had to take a while ago.

I think that the T level has remained constant throughout. I'll do another blood test after a month take a topup shot as needed. I see no reason to look for an alternative, at least for now.

How spread out are the shots going to be ? Also how is the pain in the injection site ?

Suggested standard interval is 10~14wk.

Till such time you arrive at steady state, you'll to test the levels at about 6wk and fine tune.

The pain is certianly bearable. But there are only a few sites in the body where you can take a 4ml IM shot.

I would say so 4ml is a lot to push.

Two months after the first TU shot. Levels still hold aroud 700 (plus when I check at 8am, minus when I check at other times).

PS: Pre-TU level was a pathetic 180

PPS: I am using 0.25mg EOD AI to stabilize E2 levels at around 12

PPPS: My SHBG is about 26

I think you misunderstood.
The three-dimensional structure of the esters prohibits it linking to its receptor. It has to be deesterified to become bioactive. Enzymes produced in the liver sucessively chop the ester side chain off increasing receptor affinity, eventually resulting in testosterone. T is further dehydroxolated to form the more active DHT.
If the lymphatic system is capable of this function I have never read about it and doubt it. Just doesnt make sense.
