21 day water fast!

I actually heard of a study that was recently done with men and woman and some were athletes. Some fasted for a week and others 24 days! All lost about 0.8-1.2lbs of body fat percentage day. They were also taking in some minerals and vitamins though...don't quote me on that.
Either way I do understand that we discover new things everyday about the human body but I just don't see how this method is a "healthy". Maybe there are some benefits that you get from fasting that long that you can't from traditional dieting but to what extent. I'm willing to try anything once.

Taunting? Very Jesus like! You're a Christian in name only. Go away hypocrite.

Never said I was a Christian and who are you to judge me? Have a talk with the guy who started this. Standing up for myself does not make me a hypocrite. It makes me a man.

What are you 12? Trying to "dare" me to call you names? Lol grow up.
2 things I don't debate with people. Politics and religion. Good luck to you.

Never said anything about religion. I spoke of a historical figure and his fasting to strengthen is spirit. Many people fast and it is of great benefit to the mind, body, and spirit. Fasting detoxes the body.

Hey guys,

Im thinking about fasting on only water for 21 days. I've done some research, and I've read the body will go into ketosis on day 3 or 4. And the body will not even be that hungry, and the tounge will turn white. When true hunger returns it will be felt in the back of the throat and the tounge will return to being pink and that's when the body has run through natural fat stores. I also read, that the body is also detoxed, and is cleansed and rebooted in a way that can do things like even alleviate high blood pressure. It definitely seems like a hardcore way to run a cut. And i think I may attempt it.

Any advice will be appreciated.

There's a fine line between fasting and starvation.
That line was miles back though.

Absolutely no nutrients in the body for 21 days is ludicrous and is a horrible idea for a cut. Unless of course the end goal is to look like one of those Ethiopians in the save the children commercials.

Don't do it. Period.

I wouldn't, not without medical supervision.
3 days a month is good enough for me.

look up 382 day fast.
ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2495396

I think he ended at 195lbs IIRC. Shops were basically vitamins and minerals. I did t read the whole thing, only skimmed some sections.

It says here...
"During the 382 days of the fast, the patient's
weight decreased from 456 to 180 lb. Five years after
undertaking the fast, Mr A.B.'s weight remains
around 196 lb"

The takeaway you should get from this is to only do something like this, a prolonged fast, in a clinical setting where you can be constantly evaluated for deficiencies and/or negative health consequences. Not something you want to do for shits and giggles.

If it's the same case study that I recall reading some years back, he basically checked himself into the hospital and told them that he was going to fast for a year and rather than argue with him about it he would appreciate if they monitored and advised him.

So that's what they did, monitored and gave him advice. I think he was making a BM every few days. Supplementing with a multi vitamin and not much else.

Might be the same one. Didn't read much of it bc I like hamburgers and brownies too much to ever fast more than a few hours or day tops
