Do you think that a 3/4 inch needle would be long enough to do IM glute shots on someone around 12% body fat?

Why bother with this???

If you're going to inject 30 mg T twice a week (along with HCG), each T injection will be 15 notches on a slin pin. I'm assuming you're using 200 mg/mL T. That isn't much volume to be drawn into the syringe and can be done in a short time. Then inject subQ with a 1/2-inch needle. It works. I've done it (even with volumes more than 4x that) and so have many others.

I have heard even a 1/2" is enough to penetrate the glutes unless you have a lot of body fat.
If i am wrong, someone correct me.

The body fat is 12% in this case, and im willing to bet its higher. Regardless, the average male body with 12% BF has approimately .5 to 5/8 layer of fat covering the gluteal area. So that leaves about 1/8' of penetration and this IMHO does not represent deep muscle penetration. I recommend 1" minimum, unless your are exceptionally lean - less than 10% single digits.

I've read on some other sites that many guys who tried doing subQ test shots had lower testosterone and higher estradiol than when they were doing IM shots. They all had before and after blood tests to prove this. IM is much more effective, which is why I want to inject IM. I'm actually using testosterone enanthate, which is 250mg/ml.
I've never tried injecting HCG & test in the same syringe. I pre-load the HCG syringes and keep them in the fridge. If I were to draw oil into one of these syringes, it would make for a slower injection because the syringe is cold.

Actually 12% would be the absolute highest I am. I just tried using a 3/4 inch 27g needle and I believe that it penetrated into my glute because I could feel the sensation change from initially soft as the needle was penetrating the fat to a harder feel when it was in the glute. Why do you think that the needle needs to penetrate deeply into the glute? From what I could feel, about 1/4 inch of the needle penetrated the glute. That should be enough, right?

Anecdotal. Other guys get more steady T levels and lower e2 on SQ shots, even in the belly. Others (like me) see no difference.

My point is which is the easier one to do: a subq shot in the front of the leg while seated or naked twister to poke the glute?

That takes you down to 12 notches instead of 15.

I wasn't suggesting you put them both in the same syringe - which is doable and has been done by members here. I only meant that you inject both on the same days.

12% isnt low bf

Thanks. I didn't even know that you could inject in the front (anterior) aspect of the thigh. I thought you might easily hit a nerve there. I'm only familiar with injecting into the upper lateral part of the thigh, which still often has me hitting nerves!
Are you injecting into the upper middle or lower part of the anterior thigh?
A pic or diagram would be helpful for me to get a better idea of exactly where you're injecting.

About 3 inches above the knee while seated and, remember, that is using a 31 G, 8 mm needle for T or for HCG. Painless.

When I injected IM it would be in the lats but SQ is so easy and painless, I cant be bothered with IM anymore.

So 3 inches above the knee right in the midline?
I've had so many issues hitting nerves. I thought 'd be ok injecting into the lats and i was for a while, but then I would start to hit nerves so had to change to another location. I've hit nerves in the anterior, lateral and posterior delts and almost everwhere in the legs. The only location i haven't hit a nerve so far is the glute max.

I've also used a 1/2 - inch 29 G for T only in the same area.

Both are painless.

If you use a larger size in that same area there is no doubt you'll feel it.

Your goal is to lodge a "DEPOT" in the muscle. This is BEST ACHIEVED BY GETTING ABOUT 65% of the way in (IMHO) and then proper injection technique which there are other threads on. if you are truly 12% you should do OK with 1". But 12% does NOT depict your muscle Composition. Which might be thick for all you told. I prefer 1.5" but you must be careful not to go too far either. You want your steroid DEPOSIT to get into the muscle and STAY.. So just poke around and find the Glut your want to pin (outer/upper of course), take a stab at how thick you think it is, THEN STAB THE BASTARD...! LOL:D
