I would respectfully disagree with this statement. The difference between Nazi Germany and current Israeli/Palestinian relations is night and day.

For instance, if Israel wanted to they could easily walk into the Gaza strip and take the entire region over. They could eradicate the Palestinian populous without any real immediate resistance. However, in place of continued violence and strife they built a wall. The amount of conflict averted because of a wall is undeniable.

If it were a Nazi regime in that region and the Palestinian people fought them like they do the Israelites what do you think would happen?

The gap between the two, in my eyes, is as wide as the Mississippi. This isn't an effort to exclude damage done by Israel, just a different take on that portion of the discussion.

I will agree with a large portion of what you've presented here today. By and large it does make sense and is going to be closer to the truth than not, imo. I also agree with portions of the other sides take, too. All I truly know is this life is too short for all of the hindrance that racism and blind hate brings. Hopefully, over time we can get past the demons of our past and work for a common goal.

Since the general discussion here continues to be about WHY living conditions for the majority of blacks and WHAT historically has contributed to the densely populated, low income, crime ridden, drug addled ghettos that blacks have been shoved in and picked off for incarceration since the beginning of the emancipation proclamation I am going to AGAIN avoid being drawn into a discussion about WHAT the effects of that history look like.

Yes, impoverished, oppressed people shoved on top of each other tend to do whatever it takes to survive. This requires a higher degree of behavior that can be criminal in nature- and as earlier points were made that behavior is then passed from generation to generation to generation. The fact remains that these causes and conditions were orchestrated for this very outcome, and instead of ways to alleviate the issue at its root the state's invest in more cops, more guns, more courts, more judges, more prisons - instead of putting money in schools, after school programs, housing, food, etc.... all while major corporations exploit basically free prison labor created by these policies and "cures".

We set the table for it and lock em up. Stop talking about WHY what has been put in to place to be done is being done... ask why it was put into place

The only successful revolutions I ever read about were violent. Do I think violent revolution will incite an already militarized police force? Yup.

I think about the whole 60's counterculture vs civil rights movements... white kids dodging the draft, following music festivals and not shaving didn't do a whole lot. Vietnam stopped because it was unwinnable and voters kids were dying en masse over there. No choice- it wasn't the hippies.

Then I look at the civil rights movement around the same time. Panthers, Malcolm, king, etc.... blacks just revolutionize effectively because they have a sense of community that whites don't have. Perhaps we are not marginalized and are not forced to band together, perhaps entitled greed to be all we can be destroys it... my own experience laden guess is that we lack empathy because of a lack of centralized suffering. Just like Guantanamo bay churns out terrorist leaders that came in normal Arabs (sometimes... I tend to speak in extremes so forgive that) I think the ghettos they were basically ostracized to are the social glue that is the misery that bonds them.

Black folks kill unarmed black youth everyday. FACT.. No national news coverage. But a cop in the same hood kills one of those black folks it's a fuckin travesty. Gimme a break. In a perfect world it would never happen but that would require black youth to stop earning the rep as heartless criminals. Why do they film HOMICIDE reality shows in high black population areas? Because there would be few cases in high white population neighborhoods.

When i first moved to Texas i made my first friend. Turns out his dad is an oil Exec. Had no idea till he "anonymously" dropped off an $800 christmas card to what was mostly a complete stranger(me) simply because he believed in what i was doing. He was white

Just 2 months ago my wife went to wallys for some groceries. Last minute things and out of the blue a christian couple just said they felt compelled to give us $20. They were also white. Which paid for a portion of our groceries. Did we need it? No and we sure as hell didnt ask for it. They wont take it back! Thats how ppl are down here man. Its a different world here in lonestar. Far far away from the NE where theres an asshole on every corner. Thats why i say its all in the sum of your experiences. I also do toys for tots which is a marine corps based program. Donate my time and help the needy. It all comes full circle.

My alcoholic father used to be easily baited into beating me instead of my drug addict mom until I left home at 14 and turned to drugs and crime... and somehow saw the light eventually. He was very rich... so did I have a silver spoon? Or did I become prejudiced against the elitist whites? All I know is i survived and will continue to do so.

The difference is that my experiences taught me compassion and empathy while yours gave you arrogance and a separatist view of the human race. I was expelled from school my freshman year never to return... so I guess all the books I read did me some good as I am certainly not well schooled in paper.
