Abs, Abs, Abs

Alright, so I'm burning my abs with V Ups, Hip Dips, Plank Shoulder Taps, and Plank Knees. I'll spend 40 to 50 secs on each, then rest for say 15 secs in between exercises. Who' wants to get rid of that visceral fat? Make sure you've quit drinking alcohol though, and stop eating heavy at night. If you're with me, let's go...drop your abs burning HIIT routine in this thread, you could greatly help others.

What is your favourite muscle to train?

Thanks for all the an training tips! ;)

Doing ab workouts will do nothing in itself to burn belly fat. You can't spot reduce with any exercise or diet for that matter.
A calorie deficit is what you need to burn unwanted fat.

I dont think ab work helps with fat loss any more than any other resistance training.

However, you can definitely help make the abs a bit more visible by encouraging volumizing of the abdominal muscles from working them out. This is like any other muscle, they will store more gLycogen and intramuscular water in response to direct training stimulus just like other muscle tissue in your body. Especially if you use weights to create more resistance.

Also a lot of guys neglect core strength. Its importsnt, especially for major compound lifts like squats and deadlifts. If you dont directly train your core and find yourself struggling to progress past a plateau on squats or deadlifts, consider adding direct core work as this may be part of the reason your hitting a plateau due to lagging core strength.

Personally i love to put a 45lbs plate on my chest, cross my arms over it and do situps like that. I always warm up my core like this before i squat or deadlift i find it helps to a noticeable degree. I also like to squeeze a medicine ball between my feet and do weighted leg lifts while laying on my back on the floor. Careful you dont drop it on your face though...

Something I'm not sure that local fat burning works. But doesn’t the fat from the abs go away with a general decrease in fat?
