100% not saying anyone needs 1000 cals a day. The actual science is depressing if you go deep enough it’s around 150 cals a day it tops out but that wasn’t in enhanced. I’m in the 500 or more camp when I’m bulking as Idc if I gain some fat I’d rather make my bulk worth all it is and enjoy it.300 - 500 cal surplus per day is plenty to add LBM - though it depends where you are and how far away you are from your genetic limit. For example, when Justin Harris coaches massive open BBers he has them eating less than a 1000 cal surplus per week in the off season, using carb cycling and even hypo-caloric days on rest days.
