All things grappling

Just saw this pop up today. I didn’t even realize he got busted…

He definitely should have just stuck to adcc. IBJJF is in a pickle. I am assuming they started testing to advance the sport but there is next to nothing for prize money. Now with Craig Jones making waves and bringing real prize money into no-gi with untested events, why would a young athlete even care about IBJJF? They can’t just drop the testing because that will look bad.

Their greed will be their downfall not the testing, although it certainly won't help. Especially if CJI can keep funding going to putting on events. I'm sure they'll try to shift the focus on the best not competing there anymore because of testing. The truth is though, people will go where the money is regardless of testing.

I agree with what you are saying but I think most of their money comes from hobbyists competitors. I don’t see them going anywhere, just the professional athletes not competing with them.

The ifbjj worlds and pans used to mean something when they were much the only "world" organization and first to market but now with adcc, cji and quintets ect... they are getting less and less popular.
Plus their ruleset absolutely sucks... promotes stalling and only leglocks are stright ankle locks until brown belt? Gyms that teach based on ifbjj rule set have a far lower skill level overall. Usually their purple and brown/black belts get wrecked by fresh bluebelts that have learned leglocks since white belt.

What are you hoping to obtain from tren as far as getting into shape?
From a mental aspect it gives me more drive to train hard on the mats and in the gym.
From physical aspect it shreds me. Most vascular iv ever been was the last time I ran it.
Iv been fairly lazy last couple of months and need a recomp. With winter finally ending i can start getting back outside and incorporating the kids which will help alot.

Yea. No heel hooks in masters either.

Funny you say that, I got put into the saddle from reverse X guard this morning (at least I think that is what happened). He just took the sweep but I was completely lost.

Involving the kids with outdoor exercise is huge for our relationship and makes the wife a lot happier with my training too. We do it all together - hikes, biking, running, and BJJ.

fuck I forgot about that... no ped testing but no heel hooks.... shitty trade off lol.

It's crazy we had a large group of ppl come to our gym for an event and I was rolling with a brown belt and had him in a toe hold from his knee sheild and their gym owner rolling beside me told him to just tap and looked at me and said "he doesn't know what those are yet"
Made me feel so greatful our gym teaches all subs from white belt.

Same man! Can't wait till they get a little older and can actually run and ride with us but for now they go in the bike trailer. Extra weight for me! Just bought a bunch of rucking stuff for when we go to the track or parks.
