Almost F'ed myself up

Got very lucky yesterday doing closed-grip beach press. As I was warming up, my left wrist which has a minor tear in it, collapsed dropping 135lbs on my neck and the left side of my chest and shoulder. My neck looks like I have a double chin from the swelling.

Had I dropped my working set of 335lbs, it would have crushed my neck. Got pretty lucky to say the least.image.jpg
 
Had similar incident when tore a tricep while warming up with 185. A risk we all take, especially when we bench with out a spotter. That's something I do most of the time. Glad it wasn't worse, and hopefully won't set you back too long.

How did you tear your tricep at that weight?

Not trying to be a dick or anything, its just fairly light. Were you repping it out past 15 or something?

I think the injury started earlier that week. I had felt something there that I thought may have been related to my tendonitis. That's all I can figure. Felt a pain and lost nearly all strength in tricep, weight came down and I laid there stunned wondering what the fuck happened. Luckily a guy across gym saw it happen and came over to get weight off me. This is what looked like next day.image.jpg
