Meso brothers/ fathers etc...anybody really..

I have been researching methods or rather tracking devices that can be implemented under the skin of a person, specifically my daughter.

Now, heres my reasoning: WE LIVE IN A FUCKED UP WORLD...children are kidnapped and abducted regularly whether it happens in your area or not, it happens everyday. Ive moved my family to the suburbs last year, yet we are close to many major cities in the northeast. Not that this matters too much...Crime is rampant everywhere.

Am i being too cautios? Crazy? Why am i getting backlash from family and friends like this is going to an extreme? Is it really??

Regardless this is happening..my mind is made up already; my natural fatherly instincts approved this immediately after giving it thought. She is still very young. This is NOT to track her every move but for the purpose of something absolutely terrible happening.

Heart is in the right place bro. But what happens when she grows to hate you for tracking her every move? Even tho intentions are good. As she gets older she will most likely take it personal as you don't trust her or have faith in her decisions. I don't think it's a bad idea especially being a female. But just think of how she will feel as she ages.

And not for nothing. A tracking device won't stop harm from coming to her. Only thing it will do is let you find her faster after you realize something is wrong.

God bless the young man who takes her in his car for the first date in ten years...

I didn't even know this was a thing.

Perhaps this is extreme. Maybe I wasnt clear in the OP, what im saying is shes still young, this is a temporary thing I had in mind until she was a little bit older...I think its just weighing on me severely due to an incident that happened close by a few days ago...

Lol. That's got to be a decision she is ok with, in my mind anyway. I would want the choice.

Buy as you pointed out it's a fucked up world....

Brother it's your child. I also think it's extreme. But no one will if it saves her life. Like @ickyrica said. Maybe talk to her about it first.

I was just trying to add a bit of levity lol.

It's extreme. There's no denying that. Is it worth the investment, perhaps it is? Personally, I'd feel more comfortable with only the manufacturer or some kind of LE having access to the unit. Again with some levity, that was how it was going to be with my dog if I had done the same thing... I would have to call the vet to have them ping the unit and get a location.

Anyways, if your mind is set, then go for it if it's worth it to you.

But first, try working through the emotions that were brought up with the local event that happened. It'll be healthy for you regardless of what choice you make with your daughter.

Youre absolutely right and I appreciate what youre saying..

There are other things to consider, specifically if this safe or not. And ill admit what happened nearby has elevated the anxiety I already have on this issue (to the max)

It's understandable. Plus, you have a young child so this is mostly natural feelings of anxiety anyway. Combine that with some recent events that have "hit home" with you and, it's normal to have the protection drive kick in. Just take a step back and think about everything and if you still think it's the right move, then go for it.

It reminds me of my younger brother actually. When he was born, I had a bad feeling that something would happen to him. Not sure why, but some kind of bigger brother thing seemed to kick in and I was concerned. My mom assured me my brother wasn't going anywhere... And I felt better about it by taking a step back. He just graduated highschool last week. I am going to tell you the same thing, your daughter isn't going anywhere. If you want to take precautions to feel more at ease, that's another story.

The world is a dangerous place.
A tracking device isn’t gunna do much to change that.

Instead teach her to not put herself in situations where bad things might happen. That’s golden parenting.

That being said I have no kids and like usual, I have no idea what I’m talking about.

You know what some fuktard gonna do to someone they think got a tracking device implanted under their skin.....not cool bro.

I bet right this minute you can buy a scanning wand for under $30 to detect these personal tracking devices.

The only personal protection that is guaranteed to work is to learn how to avoid bad situations. The second best thing is a firearm that you can competently use under pressure.

There are no best things once the first two fail.

We insert RF devices in cows ears, trust me does not stop theft but does cause cows to have missing ears.

I slept on it and I'm more secure with my answer today. You don't have to worry. I'm 100% positive they make mindless wear an ankle bracelet so if he makes a run at your kid he wont be able to hide!

Have you thought about getting her a watch with GPSor something similar, IDK how smart people would be to think to remove these items. I know some people are saying the chips where putting into dogs can cause cancer (not sure what your referring too would do this). I think the idea is with good intentions but I think you could get carried away tracking her and you would know every move she made, which could cause problems for both of y’all. Do what you and your wife think’s best, because at the end of the day you two are the ones living with your decision you made for your family.

Start training your daughter to protect herself and to be aware of her surroundings. I feel your pain as i have 4 daughters. I also live on the mexico border so i have heard horror stories. Hope whatever you and yours decide works.

Thanks for the replies fellas. And yes, i try my best to equip my kids to handle the challenges we face in this world. My boys- i have the utmost confidence that they can handle alot...the issue of child abductions, specifically on young girls is rather concerning is all. I work long shifts away from home many days out of the week...Sometimes i feel helpless when there is an issue with my kids and im 2 hours away...i certainly do not have Liam Neeson style "special skills" if you know what I mean... Thanks @Oldschool , im gonna check that out now..
