What's going on.

These are people that simply can't take it anymore. They are no longer hypnotized, sleep walking through life. They wake up to reality and look around at the absurdity and madness of the world that seems to run on autopilot.

What does a human need to survive. Water, food, shelter, clothing, some tools. That's it, that's all it takes to survive as a human. Guys like Ted and many others (including myself) ask what the hell are we doing all this extra stuff for. Ted saw the world of working 10hrs a day doing something he hated like many of us hate, and he left it all behind, once you live that way isolated and free to think without limits for many years you completely uncouple from the reality most live, you are in a whole other world, and if that world is threatened you know deep down that there is absolutely no way possible you can assimilate back into the beehive.

If your peace of mind is threatened, you will find many men that would rather self destruct than subject themselves to the ritualized humiliation that is modern life.

These men know that death is better, self preservation is only worth anything if they can live on their own terms, instead of punching a clock everyday to perform as a clown.

Interesting take. I can certainly emphasize with ALL of it. I think there are ways around some of these issues. Like finding something to do that generates enuff money to be happy and even if be it outside the box. The remaining question is can that person integrate socially or not. Which I think was one of Ted's shortfalls, was failure to maintain at least a few good friends... It can make a difference.. But really we are talking about the matter of being a social lepro.. WHAT it feels like to know that society no longer has a place for you. In ANY other world from now that would be the equivalent of casting someone out the the long walk to their death. And really, thats kinda what people do to each other today. Is alienate and ostracize them to the point that they might as well be dead. I speculate that its not intentional on the part of the actors, but they are somehow socially "inclined" to treat other of varying profiles with scorn...

Take two groups, have one live as a typical member of the all American rat race.

Take the other group and have them live completely isolated from all forms of technology. A slower pace of life.

Go back to the time when some whites were taken hostage by Native Americans and when found 5 years later and didn't want to go back to the polite civilized life. So you assign some weight in all these shooting to the stress created from technology... In a nutshell its accurate. But the break it down and realize the effect of the tech, such as knowing what the fuck is going on in BFE 24/7 (who gives a flying fuck and why am I forced to care), OR carrying a cell phone which holds you liable and to the scrutiny of everyone you know,, OR Technology providing encouragement and proliferation of drug trade/availability/peer skewing. AND I don't know, and if you are talking about all the expansion of negative energy in the form and pure dementia as "entertainment programming". You'd be correct.

I am still not sure there is not an underlying signal from a source hidden in all of this. A signal that is affecting the mind and perhaps with intent. From who or where I would not speculate at this time.

The Govt after all has been working on mind control since the Nazi's were imported in the late 40's and assumed to take over this country. WHY WOULD ANYONE THINK IT EVER STOPPED. SSRIs seem prevelant in a high number of mass shooting cases.

However is it rrally the SSRIs or is it more of a case where the SSRIs are the chicken but the egg it came from was a mentally ill person to begin with? Hard to say.

The obvious elephant in the room is the easy ability for mentally unstable people to get their hands on high powered weapons, drug intoxicated or not.

Sure, they could still get a knife and you see a lot of knife attacks in for example China as theres a lot of untreated mental illness there, but these knife attack scenarios rarely involve numerous homicides. Guns just make it so easy to kill people, and mentally unstable fucks having easy access to them is a recipe for tragedy.

Not so much stress. They are watching others live a more successful, beautiful, glamorous, accomplished life and they compare it to their own lives. Many of these school shooters feel powerless to change their own lives, they becomes hopeless, suicidal, kamikaze. They see no real future for themselves, they know they won't have a career, get married, they'll be kicked around most of their adult lives and so they lash out at society.

Rankism is ultimately at the root of most human discontent.

Researchers have noted when visiting far removed tribal people that there is very little mental illness of note. They are mostly all equal in possessions and accomplishment, they have little to feel insecure or self conscious about. This greatly effects your self esteem which has major effect on our mental health.

Technology when I was growing up in the 70's and 80's was the television, but kids weren't watching TV unless they had no friends. Kids were playing outside all day long, there parents didn't want them in the house at all. We were the latch key generation, on our own, but we had lots of friends. You take life as it comes usually at a slow pace. There was no one too look at across the world living a glamorous life to make you feel like you were garbage. We were basically sheltered, that was until college and then work and that was pressure cooker stress, where it's all about comparing yourself to others.

I think it's a matter of accepting who you really are and not trying to be something you think others want you to be, which is what our society does by comparing ourselves to each other in order to establish a pecking order.

Ted is very intelligent, math professor at 25 for a very short time, but that's not who he really was. He wasn't meant to teach kids Calculus for the next 30 years. He was socially awkward, but he's not nearly as off as some would like to say he is. His brother made him out to be a paranoid schizo, but he's not. He's perfectly capable of carrying on conversations, writing much more than his manifesto, including two books.

The problem is our society champions extroverts and looks down on introverts. A person that is introverted and avoids social interactions is considered defective, but the reality is they are often much deeper authentic people that are in physical pain when they have to put on an act in order to please others. He wasn't the kind of guy that would endear himself to others, he had a habit of holding his own views, he didn't go along to get along.

Ted said it himself, he laughed at the idea of being stuck teaching for the rest of his life and made a break as soon as possible. He was obviously heavily influenced by Jacques Ellul "The technological Society" an anarchist philosopher, who also wrote a book called "Propaganda: the formation of mens attitudes" which will basically wake anyone up to reality. Ellul pointed out that man's purpose will eventually be nothing more than maintaining machines, dominating every aspect of life, robbing people of their own human wants and desires, society would instead be geared towards maximum efficiency, leaving little room for individual expression.

He used some symbol from some far right nut job group in his social media. He ran a discord channel called ss referencing the nazi group and just a couple days ago posted a video of someone getting their head chopped off a site that hosts those types of messed up stuff. Then his uncle or family member says I can’t believe he did this, he was so quiet, etc, etc, really?, because I can completely believe he would do that based on those screwball things he was into, no surprise at all.

As goes the family so goes society. This kid should have been identified and been getting some type of help and his family should have been the ones doing it and not being willingly ignorant they have a family member who has lost it. But since we don’t raise our kids they probably had no idea who he was and were not very involved in his life beyond surface level trivialities. According to reports the July 4th shooter grew up in a very dysfunctional family home.

Parents were worthless, didn't give a shit about the kids. Mom was considered very unstable. Police called out to the home all the time for domestic disputes.

Raise a kid in a horrible environment and this is what you get. Parenting is nothing to play around with, either do it right or don't do it at all and the vast majority of people really shouldn't do it at all.

i don’t care to know if the person is on drugs, what concerns me is how everyone seems numb to mass shootings, like everyone seems used to it
