Amlodipine Edema

Hmmm. I’ve experienced that also but never gave much thought to it.

As many as 1 in 5 adults have it. Most undiagnosed, understandable as numb toes in winter seems normal. Also can affect hands, even vision. It's caused by blood vessels spasming in response to cold.

If it gets painful, Gabapentin is often prescribed (I got it but didn't like the sides).

What's insane is that 20mg of cilnidipine was 6x more potent at relieving the pain than 1800mg Gaba.

Now it's being explored for relief of other types of neuropathic pain.

All this with a better safety profile than the already relatively safe amlodipine.

Did you notice Cilnidipine also significantly reduces heart rate?

No, thanks for that!

I'm shocked a drug that's been the calcium channel blocker of choice in Japan since 1995, clearly superior to ancient Amlodipine, has been denied us all this time.

Cilnidipine. Equally effective as Amlodipine, fewer sides.

It's finally being brought to the US (to treat something else, Reynaud's Syndrome, but I suspect it'll see a lot of "off label" use to treat BP when Amlodipine causes edema).

Cheap via IndiaPCT. 2x dose for equivalent amlodipine effect. IE, 5mg Amlodipine=10mg Cilnidipine
As a 40/5 telm/amlo enjoyer, you have convinced me to give it a go. Got two years worth of cilnidipine in route and will report back after TD and a couple weeks of usage.

@Ghoul Do you think somebody with hypertension that uses multiple classes of medications to lower blood pressure would have greater health outcomes than someone who has perfect blood pressure with no intervention?
