Anyone use androgel for either trt or cycles, what has been your experience? What dosing protocol has worked best for you?

Yes. I used Androgel for TRT for many years before switching to injections. The "protocol" is fairly simple: after showering (key for max absorption) rub x number of pumps on alternating shoulders (delt area). Wash hands. Use caution because the gel can transfer to others with skin-to-skin contact.

Start with 2 pumps/day, run bloods to check levels, adjust accordingly. If not at desired test level, use 3 pumps, bloods, repeat until desired level is achieved. Key is to start low and move up as needed (going in the other direction sucks).

I found Androgel very effective for true TRT - 4 pumps would put me at a very level 650 Total T with E2 in range.

4 pumps is the max recommended dosage. I found if I went any higher (5 pumps) I would achieve 800's but would get E2 issues - bloating, bitchy, etc which reflected E2 in the 60-70 range. Gels cause a disproportionate amount of E2 relative to injections in my experience, especially at higher test levels.

If true mid-range TRT is all you want, it actually works great for most people.

Good luck!

Appreciate the feedback from personal experience.

The newer creams are really the way to go if you can get them from a good compounding pharmacy. Mine uses atrevis base. It's 200mg/ml testosterone and each click of the container releases 1/4 ml. You apply it to your scrotum bc there's no alcohol in it and the scrotum has the best absorption of anywhere on your body. and it dries in a couple seconds so you don't really have to worry about transfer to others. Two clicks or 1/2ml of the cream gets my total t to 3200ng/dl. You get a surge of energy/alertness from it which I believe is dht related. it's really a fantastic product. You are really supposed to apply it twice a day but I usually skip the afternoon or I may be too awake to want to sleep. Not everyone has that issue though.

Well the one I plan to use is 100mg/ml but it's gel so I will be applying to upper chest and/or shoulders. 3200ng/dl from a cream is impressive.

Did you also test DHT, E2 ?

I’m still getting Androgel prescribed, and I’ve got enough to last me 2 years, so I’m using it with my Test E simply to get through it.

Currently on 4 pumps daily with 45mg TE EoD.

I have previously applied it to my balls for better absorption. The balls stung, but it caused no apparent damage. I have also previously applied it to dermarolled skin. Which also fucking stung. In both cases the absorption was about 3x higher than applying it normally.

It puts my e2 at double what it should be relative to total T, and my DHT at 7x what it should be. Skin has a lot of aromatase and 5AR, so as it permeates it gets converted.

I like that it’s dosed daily, that it increases my DHT so disproportionately, that it is pharma, and that I ain’t gotta inject.

I dislike that it raises my e2 disproportionately, that I need to let it dry before getting dressed, that I can’t shower for at least 6 hours after applying it (according to a study), and that it makes testing awkward as serum T levels are in constant flux depending on a dozen variables. I’ve also had a phlebotomy draw contaminated by the gel which has caused T levels to show at 20x what I was expecting. Don’t apply it to the arm you’re gonna have bloods from.

Ofc it can also affect people around you. Every gf I’ve had while on the gel has gotten a hairy belly lol. And that hair persisted after I stopped the gel lol. They never absorbed enough to have it stop their periods, or get any symptoms besides being more hairy. But it’s still a consideration.
