Any easy way to tell if something was made with mig840?

12 hours later zero soreness or knots.
I can 100% say in my experience migyol 810 is drastically different than 840 for me matter of fact I will be brewing all my personal brew with it.

I pinned the first shot with the migyol 810 today the only variables would probably be the ratios but I can say 840 tore my ass up I just wanted to do this experiment to see if 810 is in fact more suitable for a carrier.
Sry to hi jack your thread I believe you were one of the guy's that was interested in the outcome.
You're correct man. No worries, I really want to hear how this turns out for you

Still no sign of pip 840 I would already have a quarter size knot.
So far I'm quite impressed I believe my theory was correct but I will know for sure with prop.

I've never had a problem with pip from any carrier but am wondering if 810/840 really has enough advatages over mct oil to justify the extra cost?

Me personally if you haven't tried 840 I would steer clear of it but if you can tolerate it that's different the 810 is so far superior to my 840 experience.
How is the viscosity of the 810 vs 840
Both are very thin

How is the viscosity of the 810 vs 840

810 has a viscosity of 28-30 @ 20°C , pretty similar to usp grade mct oil . Mig840 has a viscosity of 9 @ 20°C , so actually alot thinner than 810 . Hard to tell just by shaking the vial or something , but you'll notice a huge difference in how fast 840 will filter or even push through a smaller guage needle...

One of the big reasons its such a good carrier isnt just its ability to hold higher concentration brews or its viscosity which is usually what people talk about . But its biggest advantages imo is it's a much healthier oil compared to other food product carrier oils because it oxidizes at a faction of the rate of most other oils . It also has a absurdly high thermal stability which is great for making things like injectable winny or base compounds that need to be worked at higher heat , which can break down and ruin the stability of lesser oils .

The cost really isnt bad though , a liter is 50 bucks which for the average homebrewer will last forever basically, and if you have a lab you can buy it wholesale for like 18$/liter , so pretty much on par with other oils ... I think its definitely worth a little extra money , but I also dont get pip from anything so i might be a little bias . I could inject motor oil with turkey baster and probably not get pip lol ..

I didn't know there was that much difference between the two on viscosity.
That could very well play into all the cases of pip with 840 could be possible it's not keeping the med in depot and therefore causing pain.
Of course that's just me thinking out loud but there's definitely a night and day difference between them for me.

Yeah , its definitely a love it or hate it reaction people have with the 840 . Ive got some petty crazy shit to hold with 840 so ive just got a soft spot for it lol ... But ... its all preference , and i won't knock any oil as long as its a usp grade oil and not some grocery store garbage .

If youre only using them on yourself cool its your body , but theyre packed full of antioantioxidizing agents, preservatives , im sure trace elements of pesticides and who knows what else ?! Not to get to far off topic , but Not something you should sell people to inject imo ..

Yeah that's right I'm not one for cutting corners to save a little quite the opposite with something I'm going to inject I want the best I can afford.

For you guys bringing up 810...you can head to the peter website and request a free sample. Im not sure of the exact amount you would get but there are multiple sizes to choose from. Not sure what will be sent. Just thought i would mention it in case anyone wanted to brew a small batch testing 810 or one of the other carriers that peter has.

Well I believe it's safe to say 810 gives me no pip at all.
But migyol 840 was crippling.
I'm pretty impressed with the 810 to be honest brew came out clear as water everything went smooth when brewing.
