Any worthwhile FREE lifting/workout routine/tracker apps?

I really like the idea of Israetel's RP RIR web app but too cheap to shell out any money for it. Can anyone else recommend a lifting routine app that's free? I can simply use my own formula to add my weights/sets per workout. For years I've always trained 100% to failure on my sets so it will be interesting to see how I may progress without the injuries or possible CNS fatigue training one to two reps away from failure

A small notebook?

I just kept all my shit in my notes on iPhone.

Note for back and bi, chest and tri, etc. listed what I was doing to start off then just tracked weight/rep/set and added any notes as I saw fit ( like sick this day, machine taken subbed this etc). Very free and very easy.

Nah that's too much pita I've tried that multiple times and I'm too lazy to be writing out full logs of workouts lol

So first entry would list all the exercises for the day. After that you’re literally just logging sets/reps

(Initial entry) - incline smith press
225x10, 225x8, 225x7

Then next time it’s push day you’d just follow right below that. Or beside it. And use a symbol to differentiate a new day, like “//“ between those sets logged.

Trying to explain it via text is hard but it’s easy

I've been using the "Hevy" app for the past year or so and I love it. It's cheap and super easy, times set intervals also.

So far I've heard of

Hevy (max 4 templates)

Strong (max 3 templates)

BoostCamp (easy to use)

Liftosaur (more configurable than BoostCamp)

Chalk performance training app

Man I can't say enough about how badass this liftosaur app is. If you have any tech background/experience then coding custom progressive overloads and whatnot is sick! This app can create routines and function similar to RP's hypertrophy web app. Still learning the liftoscript language (I'm not really coding savvy) but learning enough to make shit work. Gotta say this app is the Titties.

also one Liftosaur member/discord member made this reference for RP recommended set ranges

You're already miles ahead of most guys.

Need more motivation from a notebook, phone app, or whatever else? Otherwise keep doing what you're doing

I want an all inclusive app!
At this point we should have an App where I take a picture of my food And it tells me the macros and I keep uploading photos til I hit my macros.
Also should have a spot for tdee and be able to put in the goal (weight loss or BMI or size gain) and have a desired date can put as to measure it as on track or not to hit the goal and options to achieve the goal.
When I first started working out I had a buddy show me how to work out.
Every muscle group We did 5 exercises 5 sets for each
We'd go up in weight every week bc 'have the juice to get loose'
Always did 3-4 forced reps where the last assisted rep looked exactly the same as the 1st bc soon as stalled the training partner would assist to make every rep smooth
When had most success with chest growth was going heavy. Which meant was damn near doing my max and would get 1 good rep on my own then 3-4 total with assist
There's no way not gonna grow
Just gotta eat (hence the app idea)

Your best app is your brain and knowing your body.
im not the brightest bulb in the toolbox (or whatever the saying is), but i just dont have the memory or cognitive capabilities of remembering every single analytic of previous workout weights, reps, failures, etc. Also getting old and dealing with injury has me questioning my years of (training to 100% failure so often) so i think at a minimum logging all previous weight/reps/failure/RPE, etc is a must. im also too lazy to take a pencil and paper and write shit down in the gym then try to transcribe all that back into excel to build formulas and graphs plotting my future workouts. fuck all that. this app im utilizing does all that shit for me and just takes a little up front coding to build some pretty sweet programs out

ya that would be sweet. myfitpal or whatever was about as good as ive found and it never got in the ballpark when using the camera function. Maybe AI will change that in the near future. I trained liek you describe for many years. suffered many injuries and im curious to try out this RIR method for hypertrophy and limiting injury.

fitnotes.... you don't really need anything else...
ill check that out. i think the biggest plus for fitosaur is the program building capability
