Hey what's up guys!!! So I've been a member here at Meso for around 8 months now, and I absolutely love you guys. So there's something that I'm realizing more and more, and that's that there are a lot of guys in this forum that have a lot in common and may not even realise it. I'm talking about addiction, and recovery from addiction. There are so many guys that suffer from the disease of addiction, and there is just a wealth of knowledge that needs to be shared. I myself am an addict in recovery, and coming up in March of next year, I will have three years clean from narcotics and alcohol...which for me, is a miracle in itself. I currently have a thread in the "General Discussion" thread about me quitting Kratom. I've been taking Kratom for a year straight, and now I have 6 days clean from it. It was just time to quit for me. The withdrawals I've had to endure through this have been PURE HELL. Very similar to opiate withdrawal, but not as severe. That is the reason I am starting this new thread. I was just sitting here thinking, "man I wonder if I'm alone" and "man I wonder if anyone has any advice", so I wanted to start a thread where people can come and give advice to guys going through the withdrawal phase of recovery. How do you guys ease the pain of the physical withdrawals? What home remedies help with the mental withdrawals? What supplements help? Are there certain foods or antioxidants that you can ingest to help get through? These are just examples of the types of information I would like to be posted here, and I would rather not have people suggest trading one drug for another. I understand weed helps a lot, but some of us cant smoke weed for legal reasons. Let's make this a place where we can help our fellow brothers get through the pain that they battle with behind close doors...the pain of withdrawals...the pain of addiction. There's a bunch of us here! Bring it on!!

I doubt there are many supplements that will alleviate wd symptoms, maybe stimulant wd but opioid wd not that I’m aware of and benzo/booze/barbiturate or any of those GABAergic tranquilizers can require meds to prevent seizures, DTs, death. There are non recreational/habit forming drugs that can somewhat help take a little of the edge off of opioid wd, like Clonidine, with some ibuprofen, muscle relaxer like baclofen or flexeril. You’ll still feel like ass but better than without, and the Clonidine helps the most. Tbh if you’re going thru mild wd like 100-200mg of oxy it’ll definitely help but if you’re going thru high dose over grams/day of morphine, oxy, diladuid/hydromorphone ontop of a hefty fentanyl habit then it won’t do jack lol

The mental portion was always the worst for me. Getting outside of myself and out of my head helped, especially during post acute withdrawal. Go check out a NA meeting or hang out with friends that dont do any drugs. I never took them during withdrawal, but valerian root and magnesium always puts me to sleep at night.

CBD and THC helped alot for me. But i tapered my doses down before stopping. You're almost through the rough stuff though. 6 days in, in another week, you should be good to go.

Thanks bro. Yeah I here ya...I've been all of those places. I just know how hard withdrawal is, and maybe, just maybe, someone will say something on here that could help a guy get through his last week of it you know. I appreciate you

All I'm taking is Ashwaganda and Ginko Boloba. I tried melatonin for sleep, but it made things worse

I sure fucking hope so. This mental shit is paralyzing at times. Like I cant make do tasks I normally do, but it's my brain fucking telling me that lol

Check out lopermide
Yeah I e heard of it. It's Imodium...an opioid that does not cross the blood brain barrier. I hear it comes with a whole bunch of withdrawals in itself if misused.. and that it can prolong the inevitable. I hear there's a time and place for it though

Get yourself some phenibut xt. Take 2g twice a week. It's physically and mentally addictive so chunk it when you're past the wd. OR.. realize that you only have about 10 days to go and tough it out. What you're experiencing isn't much worse than the flu so just think of it like being sick. Come up with a mantra or whatever you gotta do. It's not that hard if you just keep from using.. one day at a time. Good luck

As much as u don't want to go outside go do something to keep ur mind busy it makes it worse sitting there counting seconds an try to do workouts still when I kill my arms an legs the restless legs an arms was always better at night for me that is the worst being so tired but can't sleep if u can stay busy an find a way to sleep at night its so much easier to get through

Staying hydrated with something like Gatorade or pedialite helps. Also, as tough as it may be, excerise helps a lot too.

Do u guys get lightheaded during wd every time I stood up or stretched I would get so lightheaded it would feel like I was gna pass out

Lmfao!! Hell yeah

Except for I always hated coke unless it was mixed with H...definitely not doing that lol

I think a lot of people never try real cocaine, they get either cut with lidocaine, maybe a dash of coke or methamphetamine sprinkled with coke. I thought it was meh too, I preferred crack on occasion. When I asked these dudes I knew of that sold large amounts and they hooked it up with some coke out of the k bags before they cut it up..that was other worldly shit. If you get purer coke it gives you an almost opioid like high where you get that internal glow going (not quite as intense as morphine but pretty close to hydrocodone-oxy) except as a stimulant instead of depressant. Coke is the only stimulant I liked, at most I did it 3 times a week occasionally 4 but usually a lot less. Was never a fan of methamphetamine, kinda got buzzed off of it once when I smoked a bunch but other than that it mostly just helped with ADD.

Anyway sorry I’m not trying to sell you on coke lol, just cause I had control with it doesn’t mean everyone can. I had issues controlling narcotic painkillers and benzos.

lol you know it bro. I used to use coke so that I both had an excuse to use pk’s and benzos (not the best excuse lol) and it felt better taken them when you’re coming down off of coke. But that real shit waaayyy better than meth, guess there’s more to it than just dopamine which is like 3-4x higher with meth but yet a crappy high.

Yeah exercising is a great way to feel better physically and mentally, especially some cardio. Helps stimulate those feel good neurotransmitters. Went like 40+ min on the stair master on a day I didn’t have energy to lift, hated it while I was doing it but felt great after, which is how it is with cardio and I.
