Anyone been through this ?

Yeah, the most common knee injury of all. Because of the constant stress on the knee healing can actually take a long time. And a reinjury with an additional healing process can plague you forever. Very limited blood flow in that area and as a result heals very slowly but I wish you all the luck in your recovery.

I tore my lateral meniscus playing hockey (and continued to finish out the last 4 months of the season with it torn). Hurt like hell and caused major weakness in my left leg. I had pain on the outside of my knee and the upper/outer portion of my calf. I took a while to fully recover and I squat and do all that stuff now, but I dont run or do anything bouncy like that. High impact stuff like that will make it hurt.

Surgery should be less than an hour.

Thanx Bob. Mine actually hurts from the mid knee cap area down. And in that area underneth too. I have not had it diagnosed yet but everyone says meniscus. It sucks big time because I just came back to work on Feb. 1st from my bicep surgery. It even hurts to move the frickin blankets on the bed with that leg.:( :(
