Anyone carry while wearing gym clothes?

The issue with gym bags or fag bags(hip pouches) is thats what the guy with the gun attempts to take from you if he's looking to rob you or whatever the case may be. Still beats being unarmed.
Also gun out of hard holster is just asking for accident imo.

Good point.

Ya know, there have been mass shootings at gyms actually. I remember a shooting at a Ballys years ago, another one at an LA fitness I believe. You cannot forecast where shit is gonna go down now.

I had an instructor put it best to me once. He asked the class ,"now, if I walked in here to rob this place, who do you think I'm gonna kill first? That's right, I'm gonna shoot this big fucker right here because he represents a threat to me!"

I never looked at it that way before, but if you are a big dude you sort of have it coming MORE then the average Joe, which is why carrying is even more critical when you lift. Ain't nobody trying to fight you, they are just gonna squeeze

One dilemma I've always had is carrying while wearing gym clothes, and I'm sort of in gym clothes more often than jeans and a t shirt. I carry owb. Anyone carry in gym clothes? I can keep the belt on my waist despite lack of belt loops, may see if I can get loops sewn on my gym shorts. Anyone?
I carry normally, but I do not normally wear gym clothes except at the gym, when my gun is in my gym bag where I can see it.

i carry in gym shorts and a T all the time. A well made kydex holster with adjustable loops and a claw will get it done. Obviously need gym shorts with a drawstring. But yes, def works.
Is that secure? I carry in a custom made holster and an actual gun belt (made by a guy who designs belts for the weight of a gun - it makes a huge difference) and a holster held in place by a drawstring just seems like it would feel insecure.

Between the loops and the claw, as long as I tie the drawstring I’d be able to run with it for a short distance. It’s more than secure enough to stay concealed covered by a tshirt.

Probably the flimsiest athletic shorts I own, too. If I wear thicker basketball shorts with a wider and stiffer waistband it’s no problem at all.

nothing is gonna beat a thick synthetic belt on a pair of pants with belt loops, but plenty confident in running to the store and back on a Saturday or going to the park with my son like this.

I have an LCP that a cop friend took to work and had their "gun guy" take out 2 pins or screws and put a simple clip on the side of it. I guess it's a common thing for those specific pieces but I dnt know the name or them or anything. I have better options to carry but for a quick run to the store, it's not bad

Tony is a badass. And that’s the name of the game: shooting regularly!
For sure! That's going to be an issue for a lot of new gun owners that only bought a couple boxes of self defense ammo and never shoot! You have to get that range time in. I'm thinking abt taking an advanced class soon where they simulate street combat, shooting around cars and shit like that. Sounds fun regardless

NY has a case that was just accepted by the Supreme Court relating to licensing to carry in public, so maybe by next year the situation will be different in NY.

There's a very good chance that NY's gun law may be struck down. Then there be a mad scramble by NY legislature to come up with a replacement law.
