Is it just me, or does squat give anyone else a high that is incapable of being matched by any other body part or workout routine?

I want to squat 7 days a week, i obviously know I can't since one I need rest, and two I perform cardio roughly 4 days a week.

Am I the only one that has developed an untamed love for squats?

If you build up to it properly you could squat 7 days a week. There are some Olympic and poweifters that do so. I was squatting 3x a week personally and love it lol.

Heavy deads do it for me as far as that exhilarating rush.

I Love Bench Pressing . <thats the bumper sticker I need . Im working on PR"s in the bench and squat this winter , then I'll probably go back to more volume in the spring....~Ogh

Squats and deadlifts have always been my favorites. I love squating. Not one leg workout goes by without squats!

Yes I love benching , but squats make you strong , and proud !....A few months back while working in Alaska the guys I worked with shot 2 moose in their spare time , so we had to pack out (over 1/2 ton of meat) Everyone was in their 20s/30s/40s but me (50s) I carried my load out but several couldnt carry their load up the mountain pass .
I had to go back and pack out several loads , when we finally got back to camp they asked me how could I carry that much up the steep trail (at my age)...Squats I told them , do your squats !l lol ~Ogh

Half of the guys didnt know what squats were , and the other half was told squats were dangerous (mostly by their doctors) I hate misinformation related to weightlifting .....~Ogh

Anyone here ever truly done the 20 rep squats...or widow makers?Wicked id say at the least.

I used to do 20 rep squats almost exclusively. The trick is to use your normal 10 rep weight and stand there in the rack until you get 20. I puked after finishing the first few workouts. Mentally it is brutal, but you learn to love it. Just writing about it makes me want to go do a set...

In the next months i plan on doing 6-8 weeks of the ol twenty rep squat routine...makes your legs grow like tree trunks if done right.

Tell me more about this 20 rep squat routine.
Normal 10 rep weight and force out 20? how many sets

Yes, your normal 10 rep weight forced for 20 reps. After 12 or so you will have to stand there and take several deep breaths before the next rep and so on, but if you stay focused you can get to 20, then fall over. Just 1 set to start with done 2x per week with goal of adding 5 lbs. each week for about 6 weeks. Unless you're a total monster, that's all you need for squats. On the second cycle around you can try 2 sets but you better eat your Wheaties before you hit the gym. The version of this routine that I am most familiar with was written by Dr. Randall Strossen way back in the day. I got into it because I was a big fan of Tom Platz - when I met him he stressed his 20-rep squats and I've been hooked since. Thighs like his don't lie.
