Does this seem a bit much and should I be throwing some pull-ups in there everyday to help with shoulder imbalances I work out my back once a week plus deadlifts on a separate day. My coach is getting me to do this and I’m trying just to do and not ask questions but this sounds like it’s going to throw my shoulders out of place.

You mean push ups or pull-ups? I do pushups as a finisher for arm day to really blast them.

I mean pushups like idk I just think if I’m doing this much pushing shouldn’t I be doing some pulling to help stop imbalances

Yeah but because of the huge amount of volume he wants me to do should I be trying to match or at least half? I mean I’m doing like 60 pushups in a minute that’s like 400-700 pushups everyday and no pull ups to match lol

Do as many as you can :)

60 pushups in a minute? Are these real chest-to-the-floor pushups?

Do your rotator cuff a favor and slow down.

Yeah they are lol and I appreciate it man but I’ve been doing pushups fast for a while now only thing that’s new is how often it is. This coach is a freek and gets like 80 in a minute we are talking lock out and chest to the floor pushups

Your coach is doing it all wrong, as you can well mess up your rotators as was mentioned.

Hmm will keep in mind. I’ve been able to do 50 -60 for about a year now and no issues yet this guy has been doing it for decades and his sholders don’t have any issues. Idk I know what it’s like to have a knee injury last thing I fucking need is to blow a shoulder lol

What's the goal with doing all of these push-ups?

To add size and strength to try’s mostly and chest. I was doing a lot of heavy lifting so now when we do chest with almost double the reps I was doing, my triceps burn out before my chest gets a good workout.

Doing this every hour of every day is absolutely rediculous.

Would you do a set of light weight squats every hour of every day if you could?

Lol I know is seems extreme but in all reality it’s only one minute of exercise ever hour you do worse to yourself at work while you are working if you have a labor job. And this only applies to when I have time to do them obviously he understands I’m not just going to drop and do pushups while at work so my days off are going to be a lot more then my working days.

I won't do it more than every 6 hours(3 times / day) if it's an every day thing. I would step it up a notch and go to total failure even if it takes 3 minutes

In the military pushups are standard. We do em hundo in a clip. In the morning. Before lunch. Dinner. When ever some one gets pissed off. Point is we do alot of em. Dont recall many great CHESTs as a result.

yeah I think he was more going for endurance in the triceps so I can burn out my chest better thus bring out my chest after but idk seems pretty easy to me and I’m going up almost every day.
