Aspiration/PIP

Hey, I just injected 1cc of test into my quads for the first time. The right quad was ok, well, not exactly…but less PIP. As for the left…I have been trying to do the aspiration method of pulling back the plunger on the syringe once it is injected to make sure I’m not drawing any blood into the syringe but it is such a hard thing to do because I have to hold my hands steady (they are already shaking enough as it is) as well as the syringe and pull fairly hard to actually get it to go back to where it is noticeable. I probably moved the needle a little too far while trying to pull the plunger on the syringe and maybe have cause more damage to the muscle than if I had just gone in and injected even though I need practice with that as well. FYI, I used a 1” needle. It was pretty painful. I took 4 ibuprofens and I could go about my business but the pain is still there and the injection was on Thursday and its Saturday. But I think its getting better. No redness, bruising or anything but it is a bit swollen. The left does look slightly larger than the left. It is larger. Also, thought maybe this could be a site enhancement effect since I most recently injected the left quad. It does seem like maybe not just swelling or something but the muscle looks larger?

So far, I don’t like injecting quads. I like injecting the glutes the most. It makes the most sense. And since I only inject twice a week, couldn’t I just stick to the glutes? I did delts but with only 125mg of test each and it was fine. That’s the other thing, 125mg seems a lot more manageable. Maybe two 125mg injections would be better than a 250? Like 4x a week 125 vs 250 2x a week.

Do I really have to aspirate? I heard you don’t really have to as it doesn’t happen that often that you hit something that is going to send the oil in the bloodstream through a vein. And it sucks if it happens but it isn’t going to kill you right? Wouldn’t it be better to just not aspirate since it just seems like everything goes so much smoother. And in the long run, I will have probably less damage and scar tissue by avoiding this technique. Or should I just keep practicing and get better at it? I think next time will be better after this. Tbh this is the only significant pip I’ve had so far and I hear the first few injections are supposed to be excruciating? Most of them have been a breeze so far. Thoughts?

You just stick the needle in, pull back the plunger, if you see an air bubble you're good to go and can inject. If you see blood you fucked up and shouldn't inject. It's that easy.

Many people, I heard, are skipping the aspiration.
Me, for myself, never skipped it in 10 years.
1 time I pulled like something, it looked very strange (no blood) and I changed the injection site and let it heal for like 2 month.

I'd not stop aspirating.

And I'd not hit quads anyway. Did like 2 times in all those years, disliked it.

I haven’t aspirated in two years. If you use the recommended sites you will almost certainly be fine without it.

I mostly inject quads. ( 2 years on trt) Use 27g 1.5 needle. Right one always easier than left one. Sometimes I aspirate, sometimes I don't. I like quads because with 27g needle it takes me almost 40 sec to inject and quads allow you to be in still seated position, prop the hand on armrest, so it's stable and doesn't tear the muscle. Also noticed that slower injection and slower needle extraction prevents PIP and swelling.

I used to aspirate for every injection. Last few years I stopped. I’m pretty lean and if I’m an inch into a muscle, I’m not in a vein or artery. Also, and someone correct me if I’m wrong you’ll never be able to be inside a vein injecting with a 90° angle.

Aspiration is a dated practice that is unnecessary and only lends to potentially additional trauma from moving the needle around.
How many times you gotten your flu shot or similar and seen them aspirate?
They don't even teach it anymore

What's the worst case senario if you nick a vein? Because injecting all the oil into a vein or artery seems quite difficult, unless you f*ck up the safe injection sites. I'm pinning subq but if i ever try IM i think i won't aspirate because aside from quads it seems hard to be that stable with one hand.

You won't hit an artery if you're using any reasonable injection sites and the only veins in those areas are minor. The only thing it will cause is maybe some bleeding.

There's no way to accidentally inject directly into a vein.

No issue if you nick a vein. We’ve all be there done that lol. There’s no way your injecting into a vein on a 90° angle. Plus you’re injecting deep into a muscle so don’t worry about being inside a vein.

ouch. what happens when you nick a vein though? probably hurts alot? swelling, discoloration? Ya you know i was injecting 2.5ml and I also did it pretty fast because I wasn't thinking about that. I was just thinking that this is really hard to push through so I pushed as hard as I could. But I should take my time more.

still waiting to feel any difference being on 500mg of test per week. but its only been a couple weeks. maybe a little less fat gain than usual. but i think that is mostly eating cleaner.

Doesn’t hurt much at all. However you will definitely know you did. Hitting a nerve is more fun as you watch the needle jump almost right back out of your quad lol.

My wife is in the medical field i dont think they teach aspiration anymore like tom said, but my wife still insists on it.

They do still teach them to spear the shit out of u though. She said they teach u to do a injection Like ur throwing a dart lmao. No wonder I bruse an feel like i got hitt with a jack hammer after a nurse dose a shot on me.

I never aspirate enless I'm pinning quads.

Ya i may have hit a nerve because one time I was like ow and then i dropped the syringe on the floor and had to change out needles. Also sorta happened this time with my quad. I’m not liking the quads do far.

Then dont do them alot of guys dont like to. Ur suposed to do the upper 2/3 of the quad not the tear drop.

If you’re injecting 1ml or less, one way to make a quad injection smoother is to use a 1ml syringe and a 30 gauge .5 inch needle. Right now I’m doing NPP eod and rotate quads and delts that way. My test/mast injection 2x a week I rotate glutes. That’s a larger volume of oil so I need a 3ml syringe and 25 gauge needle.
