Auto dealer license..

Anyone here have one or know anyone with one because I want one and I see I need a showroom with a sign to keep my cars and display them at.

I just want 2 plates or 3 .. i see the license comes with 5 plates that's fine ... so I can buy at auctions I have a place to hold 3 cars but it's not a showroom ..
I need a way around that

I actually just want to buy them and drive them around with for sale signs and near my job but I'd hate to rent a place to display cars when I don't really want to display them in any one spot

Some places you need a lot that is either gravel or paved. Sign. At least a few cars. Not sure the amount. Maybe 5 at minimum for dealer license. Then you have to take pics of your lot to get the license. Might want to check your local laws and see the requirements.

I know it depends on the state.
In Cali you need to pass the test and apply for a business license and that requires and office, showroom, signs and a bunch of other shit and the lot also needs to be an approved location by the city.
It's a lot more trouble than it sounds and it will eat up your profits from your auction cars to the point where it's not feasible if your only flipping a handful of cars.

There are also more rules to being a dealer than just your regular Craigslist flipper, you have to only sell them on your lot, you can't park them in high flow traffic areas and shit.

Usually as a rule of thumb you can sell 4-5 in a year without raising any "flags" as long as your honest on all the slips without a liscense.

The biggest advantage by far is being able to attend "dealer only" car auctions and get cheap ass cars. Plus people will pay about a 20-30% mark up just because it's sitting on a lot and not in your driveway.

Honestly, if you wanna make money listen to Sk8man101. I sold about 200 cars last year. Not really big business compared to the big guys. By the time I paid the overhead required to do that (insurance, bond, lease, repairs, etc.) I made enough to pay my bills and do it again this year. Ive owned a lot for 10 years and know how to be successful but It gets worse every year now.

Craigslist ruined the small dealerships. Not nearly as many people drive to lots when they can shop from their phone. I watched our numbers decline as craigslist gained popularity. Try to flip as many as you can then reassess when your at your limit imo. Put em in your girls name, close friends, don't transfer them, whatever. It really depends on the state regs. I will give advice if you need. If your in Washington I can be of more help for sure.

Damn 200 cars doesn't sound small to me bro!

You gotta be careful doing shady stuff with the titles though. I know a guy who got busted and the convicted him of 7 counts of fraud and tax evasion.

I just want a license so I can buy at auctions I'm making my mother other ways I never wanted a lot or dealership really
I love cars and i go through alot I'd like to be able to buy cheaper at auctions
