hey bros..ive been losing my hair from using gear....mostly receding at the top - on the sides of the top.....now guys that have had similar problems, please let me know what I should take for this and the best place to get it...i last used spironolactone about 2 years ago and got it onlin and had to pay a consultation fee....i was thinking of getting that again but wanna know if there is anything better and also if i can get it somewhere cheaper.

I use Propecia 1mg per day....I order it online with no consultation fee and at a pretty good price.....It's Merck brand. Of course you could probably get Cipla(?generic) for a lot less. Some sources here carry it I believe.

propecia gave me gyno....i'm not fucking kidding. do not take that shit, we need the DHT in our bodies, just not on our head. go the topical route, spironolactone works but i've heard it degrades very fast in solution. i'm about to try Azelex (topical Azelaic acid cream) on my hairline and i'll let you guys know the results. its supposed to be a very strong anti-androgen. as far as regrowing hair check this out. i put some of this stuff in my shampoo.

Investigation of topical application of procyanidin B-2 from apple to identify its potential use as a hair growing agent.

Procyanidin B-2 is a polyphenol compound we have identified in apple which acts as a hair-growing factor in the murine model both in vitro and in vivo. This report describes our investigation of the effects of 1% procyanidin B-2 tonic on human hair growth after sequential use for 6 months. A double-blind clinical test involving a total of 29 subjects was performed. Nineteen men in the procyanidin B-2 group and 10 men in the placebo control group were subjected to analyses. No adverse side effects were observed in either group. The hair-growing effect was evaluated using a macrophotography technique combined with measurements of the hair diameter of clipped hairs. The increase in number of total hairs in the designated scalp area (0.5 cm square = 0.25 cm2 area) of procyanidin B-2 group subjects after the 6-month trial was significantly greater than that of the placebo control group subjects (procyanidin B-2, 6.68 +/- 5.53 (mean +/- SD)/0.25 cm2; placebo, 0.08 +/- 4.56 (mean +/- SD)/0.25 cm2; P < 0.005, two-sample t test). The increase in number of terminal hairs, which are defined as hairs more than 60 microm in diameter, in the designated area (0.5 cm square = 0.25 cm2 area) of the procyanidin B-2 group subjects after the 6-month trial was significantly greater than that of the placebo control group subjects (procyanidin B-2, 1.99 +/- 2.58 (mean +/- SD)/0.25 cm2; placebo, -0.82 +/- 3.40 (mean +/- SD)/0.25 cm2; P < 0.02, two-sample t test). Procyanidin B-2 therapy shows potential as a safe and promising cure for male pattern baldness.

also wondering if this would work....

Prostaglandin-induced hair growth.

Johnstone MA, Albert DM.

Glaucoma Consultants Northwest, Swedish Medical Center, Seattle, WA 98104, USA.

Latanoprost, used clinically in the treatment of glaucoma, induces growth of lashes and ancillary hairs around the eyelids. Manifestations include greater thickness and length of lashes, additional lash rows, conversion of vellus to terminal hairs in canthal areas as well as in regions adjacent to lash rows. In conjunction with increased growth, increased pigmentation occurs. Vellus hairs of the lower eyelids also undergo increased growth and pigmentation. Brief latanoprost therapy for 2-17 days (3-25.5 microg total dosage) induced findings comparable to chronic therapy in five patients. Latanoprost reversed alopecia of the eyelashes in one patient. Laboratory experiments with latanoprost have demonstrated stimulation of hair growth in mice and in the balding scalp of the stumptailed macaque, a primate that demonstrates androgenetic alopecia. The increased number of visible lashes is consistent with the ability of latanoprost to induce anagen (the growth phase) in telogen (resting) follicles while inducing hypertrophic changes in the involved follicles. The increased length of lashes is consistent with the ability of latanoprost to prolong the anagen phase of the hair cycle. Correlation with laboratory studies suggests that initiation and completion of latanoprost hair growth effects occur very early in anagen and the likely target is the dermal papilla.

nizoral 2% works wonders. also i would strongly recommend finasteride. u can get it in liquid form on this board and save youself $500 a year EZ

i thought propecia wasnt good to use with some gear...correct me if im wrong....?

You are correct.....some gear you shouldn't use with propecia. Deca being one of those.....but I won't use Deca anyway.....have read too many stories on how bad it shuts you down, and in some cases never recover from it.

Hypertrophiac:
I've never had a problem with gyno either from the use of propecia, and with any type of gear......I guess I'm just not prone to getting gyno...(thank god).

As far as DHT is concerned...yes, it is ideal to not block DHT, but I haven't had any problems as far as gains go, and maybe they would have been a bit better being off propecia, but my hair is more important to me than a few more extra pounds.

Alot of people don't like propecia for the reasons you state, but it has worked wonders for me for 2 years now, and I'll continue it as long as it is still working.

Im not trying to hijack this thread but i must be one of the few who does not give a shit if my hair falls out, granted i dont want it to drop out in handfulls but ive noticed its on a steady retreat up my head and i say fuck it. Im 40yrs now so maybe if i were in my 20ies id be singing a different song but im all set now. I shaved my hair off last summer for the first time and i have to say i loved it, got steered at a bit but i always do. People tend to move out of my way when i walk in a bar anyways but my wife said they seem to move a little quicker when i was shaved bold.

This post is in no way ment to disrespect anyone who is sensitive to hair loss. My brother went bald at 20 and he took it baddly, to this day 25yrs later he still hides under a baseball cap. Magnus

Magnus, i'm 25....trying to keep the hair. if i can maintain the hairline i've got now till i'm 30 i'll be happy, and by 40 i probably wont care either. oh yeah, and i'm single so it really matters. i might end up shaving my head but i have a 1 inch scare on the back of my head from a fight a few years back so i dont know if that would look bad with a shaved head.
