"Big D" of Big D Pharma testifies against his co-defendants for reduced prison sentence:

"David "Big D" Arroyo accepted a deal earlier this year to plead guilty to a charge of conspiracy to commit international money laundering, federal court records show. He faced a maximum of 20 years in prison on the charge, but before the sentencing hearing, prosecutors filed a motion for a reduced sentence because of Arroyo's cooperation in the case.

"Arroyo testified against two of 17 others arrested in the trafficking ring and "provided substantial assistance in the investigation," court records state."​

MOTION BY THE UNITED STATES FOR
DOWNWARD DEPARTURE OF DEFENDANT'S SENTENCE
BASED UPON SUBSTANTIAL ASSISTANCE

Pursuant to the provisions of Section 5K1.1 of the United States Sentencing Guidelines, Title 18, United States Code, Section 3553(e), and Rule 35 of the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure, the United States moves this Court to grant a four-level reduction in the defendant's offense level, and in support thereof states as follows:

Defendant David Arroyo has provided substantial assistance in the investigation and prosecution of another person who has committed an offense, to wit:

Defendant David Arroyo indicated his willingness to cooperate in this case at an early stage of this case. David Arroyo met with representatives of the United States numerous times, and the information he gave was shared with other defendants. David Arroyo admitted his leading role in the steroid-trafficking operation in the case, pledged to testify against other defendants, and did testify in the trial of Robert Gonzalez and Steven Groden.

In that trial, David Arroyo gave detailed and truthful testimony about Robert Gonzalez, in particular, and about the entire steroid trafficking operation of which he was the head, that assisted the United States in proving its case. The jury found both Robert Gonzalez and Steven Groden guilty. ​
